German CSI: NY / HD DVD promo

This was waiting for me when I came back home today, I'll check the disk later today.

The disc has only episode 201, 'Summer In The City' on it. VC-1 video and DTS-HD 5.1 audio in German and English. German subtitles are forced when the English audio is selected.

Extras are plentiful as this is a demo disc, audio commentary, tour of the CSI: NY set, making of the HD DVD, an IME style watching mode, trailers and 4 different menu styles to choose from.

So, how did you get this? Is it a promotion, or did you get it off eBay?

I bought it off Ebay, if I understood the German correctly it's originally from some issue of Heimkino magazine.

You're right, late 2006 I guess it was, Heimkino magazine enclosed these discs.

Was the penetration high enough in Germany for a lot of people to get use out of this disc? I see it on ebay occasionally and wonder about all the copies that ended in someone's trash can.

I bought mine off Ebay Germany in a new sealed copy of the Heiminko magazine months ago. This was 2 years after the magazine came out so they are available from some folks you just have to watch. I have seen 4-5 copies since then, some with the mag and some with just the disc.
