Ran (Germany Import)

Hello fellas,

Anyone have a copy of Ran (Germany Import) on HD DVD, and can verify english subs? It is supposed to be an incredible move and I am seriously considering it, but due to my lack of Japanese language knowledge I am in need of english subtitles...

Also, how is the PQ and AQ on this release?

I have the French release but I am 99% positive that there are no versions of RAN from the EU that have English subs or Audio

Ah man, my plan is crushed. So how do you watch it then? Do you know Japanese or what?

I can confirm that the Dutch copy of Ran does not have English language or subs either. I emailed them before as a friend is interested in a copy of this movie and here is their reply:

The dvd 'Ran' is also in another language (Japanese, French and German). There are no English subtitles selectable.

I myself bought the German version of Ran, and there is no English subtitles or sound. I bought it because it had Norwegian subtitles, so I'm covered.

what you do is you get the Criterion sd versions that do have English subs, and then you are set.
kind of.
many people already owned the Criterion release.
that's why I went ahead and got "ran" as well as "army of shadows" and "400 blows"
