Default Personal Studio Canal collections

Studio Canal has been the biggest individual studio contributor to HD DVD imports. I personally enjoyed collecting their releases and tried to get an almost complete collection. I thought it might be interesting to have a discussion thread about everyone's Studio Canal collections. So what did you get from Studio Canal (including SC releases through other distributors in various countries)?

I got the following and I think my SC HD DVD collection is as complete as it will get once the last package arrives:

Arizona Dream => Finland
Armée des ombres, L' => France
Basic Instinct => France
Brotherhood of the Wolf (The) => France
Elephant Man (The) => Holland
Fog (The) => France
Graduate (The) => Finland
Grande vadrouille (La) => France (still on the way)
Haine (La) => UK (my first European HD DVD import)
King Kong (1976) => UK
Leaving Las Vegas => Finland
Mulholland Drive => France
Pianist (The) => UK
Prête-moi ta main => France (on the way)
Rambo: First Blood => Finland
Rambo: First Blood Part II => Australia
Rambo III => Australia
Ran => France
Serpico => France
Terminator 2: Judgment Day => France
Three Days of the Condor => France
Total Recall => France

My personal favorites from this collection are L'Armée des ombres, The Brotherhood of the Wolf, The Graduate and Serpico.

Yeah, it turns out that I'll also have all those you listed when my Amazon.fr order arrives with four non-English titles. 'The Bronzes' is listed as a Studio Canal release on Area-HD.de but Universal Music on Amazon.fr.

There's a lot of good titles in that list, most of which I have seen yet, but so far I think Mulholland Drive is one of my favorites.

Les Bronzes is a Studio Canal release as well as it appears in SC's website. I just haven't got that one in my collection and haven't ordered it either. I have some interest in it though, but never took the plunge as I think those movies may be quite difficult to digest without any English language options and the content seems to be something very French

TF1 Video - wish they would have released more s as La Mome looks terrific, is 140 minutes long & still has both TrueHD & DTS-HD high res audio.

Good catch with the boxed set - Xploited doesn't have them anymore either.

Not sure if Enemy at the Gates is a bonafide Studio Canal release. I know it has Studio Canal on the case, but Fox Pathe was the studio. I guess Studio Canal was just the distributor or something.

Damn, I wanted the box set, but went for the simple two disc set instead. Right after I buy it, Tony runs out of the box set and here you are picking up the real deal for less than what I paid for the simpleton 2 disc set. I hate you.

I got the big box for 8.35 EUR + shipping from Amazon France back in the day due to their initial pricing mistake That was the best deal ever among my HD DVD purchases. The huge box is taking a bit too much space in my collection though but that's a minor issue. The only problem I have with the disc is that it doesn't work in my LG PC drive for some reason. The movie and PQ/AQ are great.

It's more of a Pathe release, Studio Canal doesn't list it in their page and it has Pathe intro and none of the usual Studio Canal menus on the disc. I guess Studio Canal was just some kind of a partner studio in distributing the movie but not the main distributor.

I guess from your nickname that you are from Finland? I'm from Tampere but been living in Tokyo since '96.

Yeah, the outdoors are nice this time of the year and here in Tokyo we are now enjoying some pretty nice summer-like weather before the rainy season kicks in. Around +27 C during the day and the sun is shining and the humidity is not too high yet but getting higher.

Too bad the sun always sets here around 7pm in the summer time so I don't get to enjoy much of the sunshine during weekdays as I go home from work after 7pm usually. I walk to the office from home and back and I go outside for lunch so at least I get some exposure to sunlight then

Nighttime is when I watch HD movies, usually one at a time and maybe 3-4 in a week. Got my first Finnish HD movie (recorded from WOWOW HDTV channel) last week: "Mies vailla menneisyyttä". It looked pretty good in HD. Aki Kaurismäki has a rather dedicated following in Japan somehow...
