I saw a few HD titles at the web address. I want to know if there are other movies besides Mr. Brooks and War that were only released in Russia. The only site I can think of hddvd.blogspot.co.uk has some info but not these movies listed. So, if anyone has more information I would appreciate it, like a website, or a listing.

If anyone does a group buy from Russia I want this:

It's a BD (region free, English subs) but I know you guys don't mind that

interesting!

That was HD's main strength IMHO, all it take is one country to press a disc in English, Spanish, French, Japanese to get around Sony cartel boycott.

I am all for grabbing some of these. Let us know what Tony figures out. Looks like Mr Brooks is the only disc that is actually in stock but who knows

Yeah, I'll let Tony see what he can do on these - that site is impossible to navigate - unless you're Russian.

Yeah at least they DO have an option for shipping to the US listed. That is a bonus (well until we see the shipping charges.. the discs aren't exactly cheap either)

Well it looks like we're on our own, and we'll have to figure the site out, since Tony just emailed me:

hi!
ok...here's the word from moscow. NOT GOOD! these are damn expensive! i would need to order at least 100 of each and at my cost i would have to sell these for between $55 and $60! that website you have listed is selling them at $55 each and according to my supplier they are receiving the same cost as me. but i have to pay higher incoming shipping costs and customs fees so the selling price may end up being closer to $60. at this point i'm not going to carry it due to the large minimum and the HIGH price.
tony

Ouch, but I may still have to get Mr. Brooks (one of my absolute favs). If someone wants to do a group buy maybe would could do that.

EDIT: It list the sound for Mr Brooks as

Quote:
Sound tracks:
Russian Dolby Digital 5.1
Russian DTS 5.1
English Dolby Digital 2.0
English DTS Surround
Obviously DD 2.0 is worthless, but is DTS Surround OK?

Tony also responded to me saying that after checking all his Russian sources, Dragon Tiger Gate on hd-dvd was never released and has no announced release date in Russia. It was more or less a placeholder but the disc never came out. =/

Wonder if Tony can get us a list of what was actually released so we don't hold up an order for discs that don't exist
