Anybody seen Taking Lives on HD DVD?

Just ran across this title on area-HD.de. Amazon Japan has it listed as "Currently Unavailable". I emailed Tony from xploited to see if he could get it special ordered, but I'm sure I won't get a response until tomorrow.

Anybody seen it? If so, what were your impressions? (PQ/AQ)

It will not be available. Warner announced this title for Japan early last year. It was supposed to come out last summer but they postponed it without setting a new release date. They recently completely cancelled this title with all their remaining announced upcoming titles for Japan. 8 titles in total were cancelled with a Warner Japan press release recently, this being the last one in the list.

He doesn't say where he got it, but it sounds like he got it from Japan.

Hi, i received this today, look legit, but thought the Japanese version got pusponed??

no Japanese language on the casing or menus.

Just flicking through the film now and picture looks good.

It's not a Japanese release, all Warner Japan releases have Japanese back covers and Japanese menus and different insert papers than in the U.S. and this release was definitely cancelled in Japan after being postponed without a release date.

The disc looks like a U.S. release with a U.S. insert. Maybe Warner pressed some samples of a U.S. release that they never announced or released... It seems like a potentially valuable rare collector's item.

I just found a copy on Ebay and bought it..Not sure where they are coming from but I must have hit refrresh on ebay 50000 times yesterday hoping another one would pop up

Was the seller location Murfreesboro, Tn? I wonder if they work for Toshiba in the Nashville area. Does anyone think there is an unreleased stash of Shawshank anywhere either?

I am not sure why but they have been listed on the site for about three weeks and no one bought any and then yesterday I got about 40 emails about the title and since then I have sold out. If I get any more I will relist the item.
