Info on import HD DVD titles

A small update: I sent an enquiry to Amazon Germany about my order using this link taken from their e-mail: http://www.amazon.de/kontaktformular. One of the options is "Write to us in English". I used that one and wrote a request for them to ship my "Hooligans" as soon as it is available instead of 24-Oct since they had already split my order into 2 separate shipments at no extra cost. They responded in English by e-mail within 24 hours (although it was Sunday) and now it has estimated ship date of 19-Sep in my order Of course they might have shipped it as soon as available in any case but at least now the status is clear.

Very good customer service at Amazon Germany in English!

Much better than I've experienced with Amazon.com's main site on a couple of occasions I've had some issues with my orders there => though they respond fast, they often don't read or understand the enquiries properly and it takes several rounds with different customer service people to get the result...

"Hooligans" (German release) seems to be coming out as planned (release date is 20-Sep). There are already two 3rd party sellers selling it through Amazon Germany and seem to have stock.

Amazon Germany has not yet locked my order for shipping preparation though.

I'll add "Jimi Hendrix - Live At Monterey" (UK release) once it is available for pre-ordering. I actually signed up for e-mail notice regarding availability @ Amazon UK yesterday

Other tidbits of information:

- "Bridge to Terabithia" (Italian release) is expected to be in stock in Xploited Cinema by end ot this week (information from AVS forum)

- "Hooligans" (German release) seems to be unavailable for shipping in Amazon Germany as of yet but should hopefully become availabe soon, estimated ship date for my order is now 21-Sep. Some 3rd party suppliers indicate stock already so it should be out in any case.

I'm going to add HMV Japan as a new source for Japanese HD DVD releases later this week. They ship internationally, have English interface available and they often have around 20 % discounted prices on many discs even after release date while most other Japanese online shops that ship internationally sell them at MRSP.

Update to "Titles Available for Order":

- Added HMV Japan as a source for all listed Japanese releases (except Oliver Twist as that couldn't be found there)

They have a fully English interface available.

Their prices are good for Japanese releases, it seems everything is 20 % off from MRSP and additionally they remove tax (5 %) from international orders. I listed their prices with VAT reduction applied. That makes their prices the best among listed shops for these releases, though for pre-orders Amazon Japan offers 25 % discount (no longer available for new orders when release is out) + 5 % tax off for international.

However, HMV Japan don't seem to have many of these discs in stock and it seems quite many of these releases are listed as "For Order - usually sent within 7-10 days", i.e. discs won't probably be arriving very quickly after ordering.
