As for "Keitai Keiji The Movie", I don't know much about the movie itself and the cover images made it look like it's aimed for a younger audience. Do you happen to have them? Would be interested in your impressions if you do! I often look at them in the B&M stores and will probably pick up one day when I have no other stuff to buy
Well I have both of these discs. "Keitai" is a sort of detective story involving solving various puzzles and riddles. It's quite OK but like you say, it's very clearly aimed at a younger audience but if you don't mind that then I think it's at least worth a look. PQ is very good. Extras include TV Spots, scenes that can be viewed from different angles. Commentary track with Making Of PiP. I guess this is a rather unique feature?

Havn't seen Unfair TV series or movie either. I'm thinking of getting The Movie which is available on a Japanese DVD with English subtitles, the series is too much though. Maybe if there's a HK release. I think it would be an advantage if you're familiar with the characters and story but you certainly don't have to know the series to watch The Special. There's a long looking back of what happened earlier in the beginning of the special. I quite enjoyed it. The PQ is excellent on this one too but there's no extras at all.

Thanks for the info. Have you tried it on your LG GGW-20N yet? I have gotten the video to work in powerdvd on my LG GGC-H20L but I can't get any of the subtitles to work.

CochiseGuy's copy from Xploited started working in his player after some cleaning, so the problem might be related to extraneous residue.

I have the limited edition package of La Mome (had it pre-ordered from Amazon France). It plays OK in my HD-XF2 (Japan equivalent of HD-A2). I got an LG internal PC drive since then as well (LG GGW-20N). I'll give my La Mome disc a try in the LG as well and will report back with my findings here.

I tried today. I found out I can't play the disc (La Mome) at all on my LG GGW-20N. I even updated the firmware for the drive but whenever I put the disc in, the drive seems to make some attempts to read it and then gives up, and the system shows the drive's status as having no disc inside. PowerDVD actually gets frozen if I try it when PowerDVD is running. Then I tried the disc again in my standalone player (HD-XF2) and there it loads just fine and works OK.

This is the first disc that seems to have such problems in my PC drive. Anyway, I'm not going to do anything about it as I can still watch it on my HD-XF2 which is my main player anyway. It looks like this disc may be somehow problematic on LG drives in any case.

Thanks for sharing your impressions! I guess Keitai Keiji is the only Japan specific release with a PiP track so far then. It seems I have to get both of these based on your comments I'll probably pick them up from some B&M store next time.

Adding to "Titles Available for Order":

Lissi und der wilde Kaiser (Germany - Highlight) (13-Mar)
Amazon Germany $35.97 (€24.36)
Warning: German audio, probably no English audio/subs.

Constantin/Highlight were announced to go BD exclusive after upcoming "Resident Evil: Extinction" release but at least this one is still listed in Amazon Germany as HD DVD (as well as BD).

I hope this pans out.

Director's Cut (preferably)
English Sus.
Good A/V and they've got a definite sale.

Given the variable quality of their first batch, though, I'll be waiting on a few reviews before I take the plunge. It's looking good though, I wonder what else they've got the rights to?

Dangit! I wish someone was smart enough to release it with English subs.

apparently this movie--"Nero bifamiliare" (2006) directed by Zampaglione is coming out in Early June in Italy by the same company bringing out "Trust the Man." Looks like the preorder is up on the same site referenced in the other thread. no word on whether English dubs are included.
