Yeah, it might have something to do with the earlier original release date(s) of "Bleak House". Amazon UK didn't ever set the expected ship date to 11 Feb on my order, they kept postponing the expected ship date by about a month at each time and maybe they ran into some delay threshold where they automatically cancel the order...

kannisto you might want to add the Stanley Kubrick Collection HD DVD Box Set to your list.

http://www.amazon.de/Stanley-Kubrick...1157438&sr=8-3

109.90 EU/$160.55 US

Thanks to jaycee900 as I found it listed on his blog site.

I also pulled the trigger on that Band Of Brothers Box Set. Got it just now from HMV.jp. Bought it for my Dad as he is into that sort of stuff.

Thank you Gaga! They seem to be the most active distributor in Japan in HD nowadays. I'm looking forward to 4 discs from Gaga on 1st of February too.

Apparently they are also releasing "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" on the same day (21-Mar) with English TrueHD 5.1 audio track. Since it is not import exclusive title I'm not planning to list it but here's the link to Amazon JP:

Yes it's great that GAGA are so active in releasing movies in HD. Japanese movies are especially welcome, would like to see many more announcements in the near future. So far I've bought every Japanese movie relased in HD (mostly SHV). Havn't watched Hatsukoi or Tegami but they should be good. I'll pre-order of course.

Adding Terminator 2 (Ultimate Edition) to "Titles Available for Order" now, Amazon Germany has also listed it finally. I included 3 sources, VAT reduction was done for Amazon and jpc.de, I don't know if 1advd.ch does it and how they'd calculate it.

Terminator 2: Judgement Day (Ultimate Edition) (Germany - Kinowelt ; Lionsgate) (20-Mar)
Amazon Germany $40.67 (€27.72)
jpc.de $36.97 (€25.20)
1advd.ch $42.72 (€29.12)
Note: Info at Area-HD.de and HD DVD Format Blog.

Isn't this the same disc as in the previous UK release (Director's Cut version from the original French Studio Canal release)? A few of the Studio Canal discs have been released in Australia by Universal and I guess this would be a similar case.

Yeah but its not the Ultimate Edition, its the same as either the French (2 disc) or 1 disc (UK) versions.

I hope your dad likes BoB HD DVD set. Do you plan to watch it yourself too? I quite enjoyed it, it's a highlight in my collection. The war action scenes in good daylight are quite excellent demo material as well from PQ/AQ point of view.

I haven't usually included import sets or individual discs in "Titles Available for Order" if all the same movies are available in the U.S. even if it is only individually or only as a set. This Kubrick set seems to be Amazon Germany specific. It says something about 6 discs, but does anybody know what is on the 6th disc? I see only info about those 5 movies on Amazon's page but I can't really read German. It would certainly make sense to include it if there's some unique content included Thanks for the info on this one!

Yeah, I hope they pushing out more and more releases. I was surprised that these new Gaga titles for March haven't even been mentioned in Watch Impress yet. I usually mainly keep an eye on Watch Impress for new Japan releases, but I found these in some other HD DVD import list and I then checked if Amazon would have listed them - and they had. I haven't put in my order yet but I'll certainly get both Hatsukoi and Tegami

I saw Vexille 4 disc edition and the regular DVD edition in a few B&M stores today, it's quite well presented in shops. The 4 disc pack looks quite nice from the outside. Those B&M stores don't seem to have the version that I bought at all (DVD+HD DVD standard pack).

I've translated it and a review below on the amazon page states that Clockwork Orange comes with a bonus disc (the same as the US release) so thats where the other 6th disc comes from...still a nice boxset for Kubrick fans.

Thanks for the information! I actually have all those 5 from U.S. in my collection (+ the original Full Metal Jacket that had transfer issues), but I haven't even opened my Clockwork Orange yet and had no idea about bonus disc on that one.

Yeah, the main thing on disc two is the full length documentary "O Lucky Malcolm!" in full HD.

Actually I changed my mind and ordered the Standard DVD/HD DVD Edition of Vexille. It's really the HD disc I'm after and it's the same in both editions. Anyway I look forward to watch it.

About GAGA's announcing many releases now, I don't know if it's been mentioned before here but Gaga is releasing Perfume: The Story Of A Murderer on HD DVD April 4th.

[quote=kannisto;530328] I've seen posts by an LG drive owner who couldn't play "La Mome" either/QUOTE]

That was me. Then I received an e-mail from Amazon France telling me about defective copies of this disc with a link to the local Toshiba rep, where you can send your copy for replacement. I went there, filled out their questionnaire and, after some back-and-forth (they wanted to make sure my disc would not play on Toshiba players, so I tested mine at Circuit City), they authorized me to return the disc and sent me a new copy that plays perfectly on my LG drive.

I was told that Microsoft had turned out a defective first batch of this film's HD-DVD release. The Amazon.fr notice seems to have been sent to whomever bought the first edition, as I had not contacted them about the problem I was having with it.
