Useful also for Europeans like me especially when it comes to importing from Asia.
Thanks! How is the HD DVD scene in Italy? Are the same European releases (Warner, Universal, Studio Canal) available there locally as in e.g. UK, Germany, France and Scandinavia?

Are there any exclusive Italian releases yet?
I'd love to get all Dario Argento and Lucio Fulci classics on HD DVD

In Italy the titles available are fewer than in the rest of Europe: that's why I import most of my titles from UK and USA (with a bit of France and Japan thrown in for the sake of variation... gotta love that region free thing ).

To give you an idea take a look at this site: it's in Italian but you should be able to make the titles out thanks to the covers:

http://www.dvd-store.it/Cerca.asp?tx...oRicerca=Cerca

As for Italian movies in Hi Def I am afraid that there is nearly nothing available for the time being (at least in HD DVD or Bluray, something can be found in HD WMV, Dario Argento "Profondo Rosso"/"Deep Red" for example): the only Italian movie I have seen offered in HD DVD is "La Tigre e la Neve" (The tiger and the snow) from Roberto Benigni (the actor/director of "Life is Beautiful" that won two Academy Awards in 1999).

It is a strange movie dealing with war and a poetry, not Benigni's best still an interesting one :

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0419198/

Keep up the good work !

Thanks for the interesting info! I see that the Italian online shop also lists Bridge to Terabithia HD DVD with release date of 12-September. That would be a good addition for the import title list and I'd add "La Tigre e la Neve" (though it has no English audio/subs) as well - in case there is a source that will ship them internationally. Do you know if this online shop you linked ships outside of Italy / or if there is any other Italian HD DVD shop that does?

I hope more Italian movies will start to be released, and with a bit of English language support thrown in

Go to the beginning of this thread. There are a number of Blu-ray titles listed there.

Update to "Titles Available for Order" section:

- Added "The Reaping" UK release, because it's available already now. US release date for The Reaping is 16-Oct.

Well I took a look around and one possibility is the following site (ships by UPS, so should be able to deliver everywhere + it is possible to read it in english):

http://www.dvd.it/page/HD-DVD/nv/DVD/

They do have "La tigre e la neve" for sale, (but as you said it's completely in Italian, with no subtitles) but for the moment no "Bridge to Therabitia"

Thanks Kimba1970 for the information and help with Italian online sites!

I will add "Bridge to Terabithia" Italian release once dvd.it adds it to their HD DVD list.

This site has almost every import HD-DVD reviewed. Didn't have time to check this entire thread to see if this has already been posted or not.

Many DVDTherapy reviews (and other reviews) are already linked to the corresponding titles in the "Titles Available for Order" section. Not sure if all the reviews that are available in DVDTherapy are included yet though.

Update to "Titles Available for Order" section:

- Added "Curse of the Golden Flower" (French release) (24-Oct)

Not sure if it haves English subtitles or audio, though it is a Warner Home Vidéo release according to information in Amazon France's page.
