I updated the corresponding information to the "Titles Available for Order" section as well.
OK, no English subtitles. Thanks for the info anyway. We're not exactly spoilt by Japanese releases so I'm glad they're being released at all. It's good that they have Japanese subs although I think all releases so far have them.

Yes, that's true. I'm certainly happy SHV is releasing these in any case. I wonder why they have the policy of including English subs only on DVDs though as that doesn't seem very logical and doesn't help with the sales of the HD DVDs.

I'm still buying them anyway of course! Now Amazon just needs to get them listed properly and I'll be all set.

After the murder of my uninvited German guest I decontaminated myHD DVD boxes and poped in "Silent Hill" and WOW what a awsome picture!!!

Oh and It seems according to Amazon.de via email and bable fish "Resident Evil" has been postponed till December

Still freaked out about that bug

UPDATE: Amazon.de sent me a new e-mail just now "Resident Evil" was postponed but now with a release date of October 12th, thats better
Though I'm going to have to open the box out side when it arrives!
That's certainly an interesting bonus feature, never heard of that kind of case before! I've had a small bug in my salad in some Korean restaurant once but never in a HD DVD delivery box.

I wonder if that October 12th is a new official date for Resident Evil or whether it is just Amazon Germany's estimate for when they can ship? They haven't updated any info on their home page about the release date. Now it seems both Resident Evil and Resident Evil: Apocalypse have the same "Usually ships in 3-5 weeks" status there, for both the HD DVD and Blu-ray releases. There are also no 3rd party sellers with stock there for any of those now. Looks clear that all of them are getting some delay.

I'll update the entries in "Titles Available for Order" with a note about this.

Interesting news about upcoming Japanese Harry Potter releases:

http://hddvdformat.blogspot.com/2007...phoenix-2.html

Info at AV Watch: http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/av/docs/20071001/whv.htm

Warner's page: http://www.whv.jp/database/database.cgi?cmd=dp&num=6651

Seems that "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" will be released as a 2-disc edition on November 21st and first 4 films are also released on the same day individually.

I think I'll drop my order in the UK and get the Japanese release instead

Kannisto, it's been more than 2 weeks and I still haven't received Silent Hill from Xploited yet. It shipped on the 12th (or the 11th US time) and it's already october and nothing.

Maybe best to send an e-mail to Tony if it doesn't show up very soon. I've only ordered 2 packages from Xploited myself so I don't know very well how much variation there might be with delivery times in the longer run. I understand he provides a very good customer service though I haven't had a need to contact him about any issues yet.

I assume you are using the cheapest shipping option like myself. The shipping type was identified as "United States Postal Service (First-Class Mail International (Varies))" on his site for my orders. I guess he uses some varying methods for international shipping because my first package seemed to have been shipped from Germany and second from Sweden, though they took longer to arrive than direct shipments from those countries usually do. Maybe he sends the stuff in bulk to somewhere and they are shipped to final destinations individually from there (?).

In his shipping notification e-mails the estimated shipping time to my location was specified as usually 10-14 days (but it was noted that it could take longer in some congested periods).

Added Japanese 2-disc version to "Titles Available for Order" as it is newly listed at Amazon JP:

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Japan release) (21-Nov)
Amazon Japan $30.35 (¥3510)
Note: 2-disc special edition. Details at HD DVD format blog.

Seems to be 26 % off which is 1% better than usual discount for Amazon JP pre-orders. I already pre-ordered this one and will cancel my UK order. Japanese subtitles are a plus for my family and this seems to be a unique 2-disc version with additional special features + I get free domestic shipping and they tend to ship one day before release date so I can probably receive it on release day. Still a couple of days later than the UK release would have arrived.

Now Resident Evil 1 & 2 have this kind of availability status in Amazon Germany:

"Availability: At present not available. Whether and when this article will be again available, is unknown."

Looks like they might not start becoming available very soon.

"Vexille" (Anime movie) will be released by Avex on HD DVD in Japan on January 25th 2008. To my knowledge this is the first ever HD DVD release from Avex along with the newly announced music video.

They are releasing a music video "Love is Born" by Ai Otsuka on 1/1 on both HD DVD and Blu-ray, but "Vexille" was announced only for HD DVD.

Some links:
IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0970472/

Japanese Vexille "home page": http://www.vexille.jp/

Avex' press release on these releases in Japanese: http://www.avex.co.jp/j_site/press/2008/071001.pdf

Avex home page: http://www.avex.co.jp/

Let's see if there are any English subtitles on this release, they are not very common for Japanese releases...

Interesting info there. These "Les Adventuriers" and "Biohazard" (= "Resident Evil") are Japanese releases, not German. It's a good sign because it means that Showgate (ex. Toshiba Entertainment) is still releasing HD DVDs, though they have been quite slow with releases after the change of corporate ownership back in May. They only released "Band of Brothers" on HD DVD so far after the the ownership change and that was already announced before the change.

I found "Les Adventuriers" in Amuse Soft Entetainment's page, they are a subcompany of Showgate that also released BoB:

http://www.amuse-s-e.co.jp/movie/rel...1&cont_id=2225

EDIT:

"Biohazard" was also found there, just had to switch search key from HD DVD to HD-DVD:
