Default Das Parfum feedback

What is the verdict on this movie? I have not seen it but it looks interesting. Who has seen it and what were the impressions? Movie itself, PQ, AQ and extras would be nice.

Movie, personally it was my favorite movie of 2k6, the story is awesome IMO. It's a beautifully narated and wonderful yet original story. The only gripe you may have with it is the ending, some don't like the ending, but I personally loved it. But keep in mind that it's a movie about smells, and just think how hard it would be to convey smells across a film, IMO they did a perfect job.

PQ is great as well, I'd say it's about a 4.5 or so, no less than 4.0 IMO.

AQ I can't really rate, sorry.

Another vote for "if you don't have this film why?" The story was compelling and so completely different which was nice. The transfer was pretty well spot on stunning and the AQ was decent with the few minor exceptions of the "accents" that seveal of the actors tried to accomplish. All in all a movie everyone should have in their library.

PQ 4.5
AQ 4
Extras - It was 3AM when I finished the movies.. Didn't get to the extras

If you like weird cinema or cult films, then you are sure to enjoy Perfume. It's very beautifully shot and the HD-DVD just seems to explode with details. I can definitely say its one of the best looking HD-DVDs I own. While the ending was very bizarre, it was the journey that was really the life of the movie. (at least to me)

PQ: Stunning, a few of the scenes were so colorful you could almost smell the flowers or the scent of a fine perfume. 4.5

AQ: No comment until I move and can fix my surround setup.

Movie Itself: I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5 a movie that I feel should be experienced at least once. Just watch it and don't try to over think things.

I watched it last night and to say the ending is bizarre is an understatement. The movie itself looked incredible and the story was good as well. I think this is a keeper regardless of the way it ended. I thought the audio was extremely adequate as well.

Finally sat down to watch this and was pleasantly surprised. The PQ/AQ is stunning for the most part. The acting and cinematography are superb. In my opinion the ending was great but might not be everyone's cup of tea. Highly recommended!!

I think it only has German subtitles.

Of note, however, the movie is 100% English starring all English-speaking actors (Dustin Hoffman, Alan Rickman, Ben Whishaw, and Rachel Hurd-Wood), despite being a German produced movie based on a German book.

Finally sat down and watched this today. Wow! This has to be one of best movies I've seen in a long time. I've always loved bizarre cinema, so becoming engulfed in this masterpiece was easy. Only gripe is the ending, had it ended with him in the middle of the crowd with his hands raised and it fading to black, I would have been more satisfied. I know this sounds twisted, but I really felt for the murderer and didn't want him to die at the end.

Picture quality of this was absolutely stunning! Ranks as one of my best 's in PQ hands down. 4.5 easy!

Aw, man. Thanks a lot. Would it have killed you to put a spoiler warning up?

I've got the Westinghouse TX-42F430S 42" 1080p LCD. I know you may have heard bad things about it, but I've got to tell you: Never buy the Westinghouse TX-42F430S 42" 1080p LCD.
