The Last Legion HD DVD Impressions

Just got finished watching The Last Legion on HD DVD, thoughts....

1) Picture quality is very good, very clean bright colors thru out, even at night it holds up very well. The film has some grain and the print has a few minor blemishes, but overall it looks very good. 3.5/5
2) Audio is OUTSTANDING. Very good use of surrounds and bass. I could constantly hear something out of my surround, very good usage. The English is DD+ although there is a Spainish only DTS-MA track (on the back of the case it lists DTS-HD but my receiver does indeed decode it as DTS-MA). I didn't understand any of it in Spainish but from the sound quality itself I didn't notice a discernable difference between the DD+ and DTS-MA tracks. 4.5/5
The movie itself is actually pretty decent. Sorta a "been there done that" kinda movie but it is enjoyable for sure. Did I mention the female lead actress is stunning? That kinda helps
I'd say for those who liked King Arthur or similiar movies this is worth importing, or getting thru someplace like Xploitedcinema (where I got mine).
Next up I'll take a look at Tristan and Isolde....

On a side note...there is a quirky defect on this disc I've never encountered before....if you pause the movie (not stop, just hitting pause button) at any time while it is playing, after about 10 seconds it dumps you back to the main menu, and you have to start over from the beginning and skip ahead to the scene you left it at. Kinda annoying but a minor problem, I guess.

I agree about the PQ but the audio quality in my opinion is not that special with the English DD track (which is only 448 Kbit/s).

Only 448? WOW! Either I have good speakers or I'm easily impressed, lol.
