At last, I received my copies of Death Sentence and Resident Evil: Extinction today (along with 7 other HD DVDs).
I didn't watch them, yet, but I made some pictures of both releases.

I changed the name in thread title since I think only mods can edit the titles that are visible in the forum level. I changed the title in the post as well then. I think pkde must have been thinking about the upcoming Death Proof while typing. I sure hope to get that one too. My Death Sentence should be here soon too, together with Strip Mind. I'll post some impressions about Strip Mind when I get it as nobody's been commenting about it so far.

I have both RE 1 & 2 movies and Underworld 1 & 2, all are pretty good quality. I am not a good film critic, but they were enjoyable and had good PQ.

I took some screencaps of Death Sentence.





The PQ (VC-1 encoded video) looks pretty good, the visual style is somewhat gritty with muted colors and a bit enhanced contrast. The English audio track is DTS-HD at 2046 kbps (16-bit). The movie looks very interesting, though I didn't watch too much of it yet.

Great flick! You really feel for the Kevin Bacon character in this film. The action is really intense and the violence is pretty hardcore, I'm glad i bought this film on . I will agree with Kannisto on the picture quality.............................the style of the film is a gritty presentation. The overall picture quality is really good though with great detail and I give it a solid rating.

Highly recommended if you're on the fence about buying this.

Just finished watching the movie.
PQ is a good 4/5
AQ is 4.5/5 (English audio)

Subtitles are optional for extras and feature film.
There are only German subtitles (with one typo) when Spanish is spoken which applies to 3 sentences, tops.

Definitely worth buying.

Just ordered Death Sentence off of eBay. Loved this film immensely, and can't wait to view it in high-definition
