My package should hopefully arrive tomorrow. For a 2nd time in a row my FedEx package from Xploited Cinema with 3 discs got stuck at Japanese customs clearance for a bit and I was worried for a moment as I got an e-mail saying the following:

From what I know about "Legion" it looks like a title I would enjoy. Anyone know where I can find a review for it?

I got this yesterday and watched it last night.
Case pics (seems I also caught my own reflection on the last pic): ![]() ![]() ![]() Technical details as shown by WinDVD9 Plus (when English audio track in use): Quote:
Runtime: around 102 minutes Extras: Back cover lists 85 minutes as extras runtime, all in SD. Includes making of and some featurettes and trailers for other movies by the same distributor. Extras seem to include forced Spanish subtitles. Main feature's Spanish subtitles can not be turned off in the menu. Menu's option for subtitle removal can't get activated at all when English audio option is selected though it's possible to try. However, it's easy to turn the subs off with remote during playback, that is not prevented in any way. PQ/AQ: Video PQ was fine, I'd give it around 4+. The level of detail is very good. There's a bit of grain throughout the whole movie. Even dark scenes look pretty detailed and good. In some scenes the colors were a bit strongly warm / tinted, but it seems to be pretty much based on natural light. In the AQ department, Spanish audio dub has been given very preferential treatment as there is a Spanish DTS-HD track at 2436 Kbps while the English audio track is only DD at 448 Kbps. The English audio sounded OK but not impressive in any special way. Dialogue was pretty clear in any case. Disc image: HD-30: data image size around 24 GB (I didn't write down the exact figure). The disc is not AACS protected. The movie itself: After reading various comments about the movie in IMDB I knew more or less what to expect. The movie is quite family friendly, there's basically no hard edge whatsoever. It could probably be enjoyed by 10-12 old audience as well as adults who don't watch it with wrong expectations. I found it to be a mildly entertaining old fashioned adventure film set in medieval times. Some of the acting is a bit camp-like and the movie is not stylized in any way. Characters look a bit theatrical, not entirely believable. Battle and fight sequences are not drawn out nor very violent, they appear to be quite simply choreographed and shot in a very plain style from medium distance. There were a few talented actors like Ben Kingsley. All roles are quite straightforward good guy / good girl or bad guy type affairs without any gray edges. Nevertheless I found it to be kind of entertaining in a harmless, clean fun way. This movie feels kind of old fashioned in style and execution, somehow different from most modern films. There's nothing cynical of parody-oriented in it. Can be enjoyable when you feel like watching something like this ![]()

it wasn't that great of a movie...I really don't think it's worth $38.

I enjoyed this a lot. The PQ was good although the AQ was a bit lacking I thought. The movie was a fun little romp with some interesting "back story" on excalibur. My strongest complaint was that if you pause the film for longer than 5 minutes it goes back to the menu screen and you have to start over from scratch (yes you can use chapter search but they are a bit far apart and I seem to have a knack for pausing exactly dead center between chapter breaks aparently)

I decided to try this title since I never played it, subs on the A3 can be disabled using the sub button and r arrow work. On the BD-UP 5000 I have to use the sub button and use english subs as a shut off switch. As for my XA2 it's stored in the garage as the 5k took it's place so I can't test it... well I could but it's not worth the effort.
