I watched this already and enjoyed the movie quite a bit It was really well done and felt very authentic (though I don't know that much about British football hooliganism) and acting was excellent all around.

I think the PQ is a solid 4/5, not quite "reference quality" but good HD without any notable problems. Level of sharpness and detail was pretty good. Some grain in darker scenes. The colour scheme is a bit muted, well suited to represent downcast British weather. AQ was decent as well.

There are no English subtitles and sometimes it may be a bit difficult to follow British slang perfectly if one is not a native speaker but it was quite understandable enough.

The movie started directly defaulting to German audio and no subtitles. Best to change audio directly via remote as when audio is changed to English from menu, German subs are enabled automatically. Subs can be disabled from menu or directly via remote as well.

This would be highly recommended

I wrote almost the same "review" in this thread which I then copied to AVS forum and edited a bit since I combined the specs, pics and "review" into a single post there whereas I had them in separate ones here

Anyway, I think the PQ was pretty good though it doesn't have the "ultimate 3D pop effect", still very decent level of sharpness and detail and no artifacts and no visible EE etc. A couple of scenes, especially darker ones, were a bit softer and grainier but not so many. As I noted, I would rate it 4 out of 5

Just watched this last night, was a total blind buy. This movie is fuggin awesome, instantly one of my favorites already. I'd say it's kinda similar to fight club, anyone that liked that should like this. And definitely some great acting by Wood.

First off if you want a movie that better shows british football hooliganism then you need to watch ID not in HD DVD tho

Any who thanks for the impressions cause i have been thinking of getting this but was unsure what the quality maybe like but your impressions sound good and have swayed me

Like Fight Club? Are you mental?

Being from the UK, it escapes my mind why they haven't released it here, I love the movie, but It's nothing like Fight Club.

I have the SD DVD, more than enough for me, screw importing.

I only mean it's similar to Fight Club due to the violence, I don't feel the stories are much the same at all. IMO anyone that liked all the fighting in Fight Club should like the fighting in Hooligans. Sorry if you thought I meant the story was similar.
