Question A3 stuck on Welcome

Probably old news but I'm new to the forum and couldn't find it in an old thread.
My first A3 (ages ago) got replaced free after it stuck on "Welcome" and nothing worked, not even cutting the power.
The replacement A3 (now about a year old) has stuck a couple of times, but thankfully reset itself after I've cut the power.
It's fully firmware updated.
Anyone have any ideas / similar issues? Or is it doomed to die?

The "stuck on Welcome" is almost always the result of a failed firmware upgrade. On all 3rd gen players (A3/A30/A35), if they have a loss of power (unplugged or power outage due to storms, etc.) they want to go into Setup to reset the clock and sometimes appear to be stuck on Welcome, but pressing Enter on the remote gets them to display Setup.

On my HD-D3 player I've had this problem. Unplugging it for about 15 minutes usually resolves it but I'm seeing this occur more frequently- that is... I resolve the problem but then a few days later it occurs again.

You can press and hold the power button on the player until it turns off, that might help reset it.

I have an Onkyo player I sent in for warranty work that did the same thing intermittently. No idea what the cause is (yet)

Hopefully the problem wont come back; if it does I'll try this

You guys may want to try deleting the "fixed persistent storage" or the cookies and movie studio data that are stored when some titles are played on your machine. Some have noted that this data can get corrupted and cause players to do strange things. Probably not related, but worth a shot....
