Default Advice on players to keep.

OK, time to start selling the extra HD-DVD player.

I jusy got the LG Super Blu, so I am keeping that and the A35 and the Onkyo 805.

I have an A3 to sell and want to sell one of my A20 or A30.

I forget the main differences between the 2 , I have seen that some people liked the A20 better than the A20 and others like the A30 more than the A20.

Anyone have advice on which one is better to keep.

I don't know how some people could like the A20 better than the A20, and I sure have no idea how others could like the A30 better than the A30. Seriously, I have both the A20 and the A30 and believe the A20 is better built, but ask me in a few years if that turns out to be true, I will know more then. I am not aware of any differences in features.

I agree.
I really think most people feel the A20 is at least equal to the A20, and that the A30 definitely gives the A30 a run for its money.

If i'm not mistaken th A20 will downonvert optical audio to 1.5mbps DTS, whereas the A30 will downconvert to 640kbps DD. If you use HDMI there will be no visual or audio differences. Oh wait, the A20 looks like it's built a little tougher, but the A30 looks to be sleeker and modern.

The A20 you could sell to me for $60 shipped, the A30 you could not. That sort of provides my opinion to your question right?

Isn't some problematic titles or imports are only playable in 2nd generation.
i.e: Stalingard and Bali

If it me, I'll sell the a30 since you keeping a35 anyways. Beside I like the look of a20 much better than the 3rd generation. :-)

Definitely the A20--both of them can't de-interlace worth a crap but the A20 feels more solid (even though it's not that heavy). Moreover, the A20 downmixes DD+ and DolbyTrueHD to 1.5 Mbps DTS as opposed to DD from the A30.

Interesting perspective you have there.

I consider the A20 to he the second best HD DVD player made, behind the XA2. While the A30/35 is technically superior, the better construction quality and aesthetics (IMO) of the A20 put it over the top.

The only thing that could put the A35 in the lead is if you *need* analog surround.

You sure about that? I have an A20 and have a standard Pro Logic/DTS receiver. And when enabling TrueHD tracks, I have yet to see my receiver detect a DTS signal.

Do I need to set something in the setup menu for it to work?

The A35 also bitstreams over HDMI, something the A20 cannot do.
