I went to AVS Forum to see what they are saying about it and found that there are mixed results. Some good and some bad. It all depends on your receiver, HD DVD player and Video combination.

If your current firmware works fine for your needs, don't bother.

I updated to the new version this past Saturday and it works just fine for me. By the way, it's version 2.0, not 3.0.

No, it's version 3.0. Version 2.0 has been out for months.

Definitely 3.0

Ive had no freezes (what I call remote freezes, where I press a couple of the buttons on the remote to fast and everything freezes). And no picture drop outs at all since updating. Though it wasnt that often it would do it.

Besides that everything seems the same and good.

I updated, first time, had been on 1.1 for a few months. Feels the same, honestly maybe a little bit faster, but I can't notice much so no biggie.

I updated to 3.0 to see if it will fix True HD audio drop outs but it did not. However, it seems like that the LFE channel is more lively now. Too bad it did not fix the True HD audio drop out.
I suspect now that the problem is the Onkyo 605 since I read posts about audio drop outs on Pana BD30 bitstreamed.

Sorry, it's definitely 2.0. Version 3.0 is for the HD-XA1, HD-A1, and HD-D1 models, according to the Toshiba website.

The firmware is not available on Toshiba's website yet. It is only available through the firmware update on the player itself.

I think that means your last Firmware was 1.3, as opposed to mine being 1.1. Just a guess, but I think that is it. Anyone know for sure?

I'll update my player this weekend. Even though I can't stand it.
