Default Firmware 3.0 for A2/A20/XA2 out!

I just went to the update option for the heck of it, and was surprised when my XA2 started updating. I was on 2.8, now it shows as 3.0/T23T.

I went to the Toshiba website but apparently it's not posted there yet. I'm not smart enough to know what, if anything, it has improved. I only have a 720P Sammy so 24fps is not relevant for me.

Happy Updating!

Hopefully this addresses the 1080p/24fps issues. Owning HD DVD will be OK if Toshiba fixes all issues by firmware updates. I don't have my HD DVD players connected to the internet so I hope this will show up at the Toshiba site quickly. Thanks for good news.

Chris

I hope one of the writers of this site will come across this post and possibly offer some news on this front. Until I know for certain it's safe, I'll be sticking at 1.3 myself.

I haven't tested it myself, but a poster on AVSForum stated that Firmware v3.0 did not fix the 1080p24 jaggies problem that was introduced with v2.8.

It looks like it's still a good idea to stick with v2.7.

I moved my HD-XA2 to an internet connection and updated to 3.0, Is there a way to go back to 2.7 if needed?

Thanks Josh.

No need to update, both my XA2's run flawlessly with 2.7.
