Default 'A system error occurred' HD-A3

I got this message earlier on my A3, I had to take out the movie then start it up again and it played.
Has anyone gotten this before? I hope my player isn't breaking...

I think your HD DVD player just realized that it lost the format war.

Sorry, I'm an ass (no pun intended with that avatar) but I couldn't resist.

It's proably the disc. Was it a dual format disc? They seem to be the most problimatic. Nice avatar btw....You have this one as well over at B-D?

Nope, it's a regular HD disc, I dunno if it was the disc cos I started it up twice after the first failed and it played fine

Just clear your presistent cache. That will probably fix any of the error problems.

I've had system errors a few times. Try washing the disc with dish soap. Discs were coming from the factory with a light oil or something on them.

Go to setup, then general, then maintence, then persistent storage, then click yes to starting persistent storage. Then it will take you to another screen. Clear anything in there (delete). This has fixed all errors Ive ever received from any disc (HD DVD anyway).

Spanx for that info! The stuff that was in storage wasn't even from the discs that gave me an error.. Stuff like 300, Full metal jacket, Warner bros icon.. Anyways, I deleted em
