I've never had a problem playing my A2, and it's my choice when upconverting SD discs. But today, the discs will load fine (they begin playing via optical through the receiver), but all I get is "invalid format" on both SD and HD DVDs. I have a PS3 that works fine, so I tried to change the HDMI cord by switching the two to make sure it's not the HDMI connector, but I still get the same error message. I've powered the machine off, but no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a way to restart it somehow? I can't even get into set-up because it won't appear on the TV. Thanks in advance.

you might look at hddvdformat.blogspot.com for a better explanation of the "error" codes. not sure if that will help, but they have info there regarding all the codes and what they mean.
