Default What are my future options for combo players?

I know we currently have the SAM 5000 and LG SUPER BLU for combo choices. But the more I look, the more limited they seem to be. I don't want to miss the boat, but I also don't want to prematurely purchase if a better, cheaper combo player is coming out in 2008.

Any info on future options would be awesome. Or is it better to hope for firmware updates on the 2 previous mentioned players.

Thanks guys!

The 5000 looks to be the last combo coming out of Samsung. LG *may* be releasing the BH300 sometime this year, but nobody seems to know for sure.

Get the Samsung BD-UP5000 before it's too late!! Incredible machine and it has the Reon chip. Circuit City has these marked down to $499.99 while stock lasts, so hurry.

It appears both of the current players are pretty good, but if LG does go ahead with the next generation, it should be even better and Blu-ray Profile 2.0. I would be surprised if LG does release it but I have no way to do anything but speculate and I wouldn't believe anything until it is official.

Could also consider going to an HTPC with an LG or Samsung combo drive in it. They are pretty cheap. The video and sound cards required (ATI HD 2400 and Sound Blaster X-FI) are under $100.00 each! All you need to do is supply the computer and purchase PowerDVD 7.3 or WinDVD 9.
