Will HD-A1 firmware files work with the RCA player?

I have an HD-A1 and really like it, and know of some RCA versions I can get cheaply as backups. Will the HD-A1 firmware files work with it? I know they are the same player but one says RCA on the displays, one says Toshiba so there are SOME small differences somewhere...

I remember in the "old days" on the AVSForum that owners of the HD-A1 used the Tohsiba A1 updates and they worked fine; the only difference is their player now said Toshiba on the splash screen instead of RCA.

My bro has that same RCA player. After I updated my A-1, I would hand the Toshiba update disc to him and he would update every firmware update without issues.
