I'd be very interested in buying Godsend and Oliver Twist if you'd care to fancy the notion jeanpaulg.

per forum rules, you can sell as you want, bulk lot collection whatever. that's your call.

but without a price in the thread, it will get removed. try to get one up within 24 hours. we don't do the ebay "make me an offer" kinda thing.

and w/ a 0 rating, if you find a buyer here, you may have to work out a payment arrangement, as i'd never advise a user to send international large funds with no established history.

good luck, yo. looks like a fine collec you assembled.

Like I said, I am new to forums and don't know all the etiquette. If I am in the wrong for saying things or listing things inappropriately, than I apologize. As I an see from the comments from the moderator above I am not, So I guess I`ve got some learning to do. Anyways, I guess this whole thing was a test to see if there is stil intererest in these . Looks like it is going to be pretty tough to get rid of this whole collection in one go. I just felt like if I let people pick at the rare copies, it would leave the common that no one would care about. I`m not in any dire need to get rid of my collection, but I just didn`t want to see it go the way of the dodo bird (beta, or laser disc). I am actually quite upset about the way the whole and battle played out. As far I see it, was the far superior format; for one very small example yet big at the same time was that it was region free. Blu-ray should learn from its predessesor and do the same.... Here I am going on a rant.

Anyways, good luck to you on your search to better your collection. For me, I will go gently into the night with my collection.

Long live !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I'm in Canada, what's your asking price?

Be careful if you decide to sell these individually - if you haven't had experience shipping, you're in for a shock with the cost of shipping. Even a single hd dvd can be over $4.00 shipped to the US if you use a bubble mailer.

Well, to be honest I'm looking for $3000 for the lot. That doesn't cover shipping costs either. I'm guessing I could fit everything in 4 large boxes at $30-$40 bucks each to ship. Canada Post is a farce; charging sometimes more to ship within the country than sending to the U.S.

With some of the rare titles he has listed, $3000 seems like a fair starting point for price.

As for Band of Brothers, it was originally $165 new from Xploited (plus shipping). When they sold out, the price on the secondary market quickly went to $180-$200. Now it is rare and totally out of print. Just because someone is selling a used set in a custom box, and can't get the full value out of it, doesn't mean someone is insulting HD DVD when they pay $400 for a new factory sealed set. That auction had 8 bidders buy the way, three of which went over $350.

It doesn't matter that it is cheaper on another format. There are many laserdiscs that fetch over $100 (some over $1000) even though the title is available on DVD. It is called collecting, which means if you collect, you will often have to pay more than the original cost, or more than what something is available for on another format. I mean I can buy a comic trade paperback that has Batman #27 for $10. To buy the original will cost $100's of thousands. What BoB costs on Blu-ray don't mean a thing.

That is exactly what will happen. If you sell off your rares, you will be stuck with a bunch of movies that won't bring $3. The only suggestion I might have is to research which titles sell for under $10 (which would be 3/4 of them probably) and which have more value (like your BoB, steelbooks, etc.). You can do this on E-Bay, Half, etc. Then maybe figure out a way to break your collection down a little more. For example, a BoB set with 5-10 more war/action films, etc.

That will give people a smaller price to stomach instead of buying all 275 titles to get 1 they want. Then they can buy 10 titles to get the 1 they want.

All right guys, this is not the Smackdown forum not debate society. Please note the Marketplace rules:

Quote:
NO THREAD HIJACKING RULE:
There is no reason for a user to go into somebody else's thread and tell them where they can get that disc cheaper, or even worse, offer one in the other users thread. The member chooses the selling price and the other member chooses to purchase it at this price or not. Please report this if it happens. This includes derailing the thread and insulting other members.
I deleted several posts and edited posts quoting the deleted posts. jeanpaulg has listed his collection and indicated his asking price. If interested, then fine. But this is not the place to debate the price or value. If you think you can find what you're looking for elsewhere at a better price, then go and get it. But don't post here about it.

hd dvd Hey Jean

Hey Jean,

Very nice collection. Best of luck at getting a fair price. I know it's tough parting with such a great collection. It would be wise to break it up and sell like others in your thread mentioned.

Again I hope you get a fair price.

Cheers,

Graf Ulrich
