Hello Juio. Which titles are you referring to that this particular Fry's in Oxnard carries? The one's in Manhattan Beach, City of Industry, and Burbank are all out of them. Seriously. I'm thinking about taking a drive there tomorrow. Better yet, I think I will give them a phone call for their current titles. Maybe a customer service representative will address my needs as far as titles are concerned. Can you elaborate a bit about specific titles? I just want to get an idea before I make that trek out there. Peace....Thanks.

Just got back from Fry's Electronics in Oxnard. They only had about six titles. I picked up Miami Vice for $3.99 and Dead Silence for $3.99. The notable and metioning titles I saw was Caddyshack, King Kong, Dead Silence, Miami Vice, Snake Moan, Seed of Chucky, The River, MI-III, Lethal Weapon I and II, Nutty Professor II, and just a couple of more I can't really remember.

Hello to all the HD-DVD fans and the wonderful people I have met and enjoy on this site. So, on with the show. Being located in Southern California is such a plus. I mean, I am everywhere and the people I come across and converse with from vast cultures are very nice. I haven't posted any sites because I was reading the rules and I don't know if it's legal to post them here or really what section. I have so many resources right now where you can just walk into these establishments and they have a plethora of titles. I mean, one source is even right in my backyard. I just want to help people, but I would like to ask one of the administrators of this site if and where can I post these links. No, I'm not trying to promote these retailers, but trying to help you all out by letting you know there are a ton of retailers out on the West Coast that I don't have to mail order, but just walk right in and buy them off the shelf at rock bottom prices. I love to help people and give great news. I'm kind of a tech guy and love the pc in all facets. To get back on topic, if I may, to an administrator, let me know where I can post information about certain retailers and their locations if possible. At times, I don't think the rules can be bended or are we allowed to post certain url's or locations of businesses...
I just feel that I'm not one of those type of individuals/persons that holds information back. If I have two copies of a title I will sell it to you for less than what the retailer is offering. I just don't believe in cheating anyone at all. You treat people the way in which you want to treated and the good kindness of your heart will come back three-fold, as my mother used to say. LOL....Lastly, I would like to say I hope to share and get to know some of you personally. Maybe we can even meet up offline and have a HD-DVD night if your local. I don't mind. Just have to say that you guys are the best and thank goodness there's people out there and in this forum that still loves this awesome format of HD-DVD as I do. When I disagree I will state my case and respect your comments. In other words, we can agree to disagree. Take care ladies and gents and again thank you for letting me in the forums. San Diego store off Aero drive appears to have no more HD DVDs. Will check San Marcos tomorrow (or next week). I'll still keep my eyes open for the 360 drives... if they hit $10 I'll buy a couple.

I just remember something. Okay, some people don't realize that there is a huge once a month computer show that is here in Southern California. It is no longer at the Pomona Fairplex, but now more local at the Shrine Auditorium the following upcoming weekend of September 19th and 20th. Anyway, I noticed something about half-a-year ago or longer. Can't remember, but I walked by a vendor and this lady had four drives there. This is like I think January of this year where I looked down and it was a stand alone HD-DVD drive. I picked it up and looked at it carefully. The dog on thing was $10.00. I'm pissed off now because I bet you those bad babies are gone. In addition, they have a video section there and many vendors that sell hard-to-find DVD's I remember as well. I can't wait because I will let you all know if I grab one or if it still exist. I've never seen it on the internet. If I do, I will post that I have it and give you a picture of if legal on this site and that would be my back-up because I have an LG drive that plays the best of both worlds HD-DVD and Blu-Ray. Peace....Just something I think some people might be interested in.

Check san marcos on Saturday... not too many different titles but they had about 10 or so copies of forbidden planet. Given what Gizmo was saying about the Frys in Oxnard, I may return to the San Diego one off Aero drive and take a look around to see if I missed any HD DVDs hiding somewhere.
I'm hoping the 360 add on drive drops to $10. I'd buy a couple (so much for not buying any backup players, heh) and would give 1 to a friend of mine.

Sometimes they stock them back in the video game section where the random crap is (As Seen on TV products, PS1 Games, UMDs). Just ask an employee for the movies in red cases....they'll know what they are.

Okay people. I just drove back from San Jose,CA and went to the Fry's Sunday morning. My hotel was about a mile from the location. Arrived at 9:00a.m. at the Fry's in San Jose. They had a nice display of HD-DVD's for sale. I was impressed and there at 9:00a.m. when the opened. I purchased:
Freedom Writers, $2.99 Black Snake Moan, $2.99 Caddyshack, $3.99(This titles was $7.99 at the Oxnard store I went to a couple of days ago) Mel Brook's Blazing Saddles,$3.99 The Fugitive,$3.99 Now, someone stated earlier in the forum that HD-DVD's were popping up at Burlington Coat Factory. That individual was absolutely correct. After we left to head back down to Southern California, we stopped at the Burlington at The Great Mall in Milpitas,CA. It's right outside of San Jose,CA. I went in and low-and-behold there were HD-DVD's sitting between DVD's on these two racks near the cash registers. There were a few titles and I was only interested in one. I purchased Animal House for $6.99. In all, it was a productive trip. No, I wasn't up North for just HD-DVD's. Just visiting a relative with the wifey. I have received some IM's on where in the world do I get these titles so fast and where. My journey begins as follows: CD-Interact in Pasadena,CA Secondspin(has website as well) Amazon Ebay(haven't purchased anything from there yet) FYE(formerly was known as The Wherehouse and they had HD-DVD's at the Montebello Town Center and in Torrance on Hawthorne Blvd) Burlington Coat Factory I must say that I really do a great deal of traveling in the country. Oh, I did some more research and conversing with some friends I have. As much as I know Los Angeles geographically, it never crossed my mind to check the Gardena,CA community. It has a huge Japanese community that will welcome you with open arms. Why do I say that? It's because there's quite a few Anime chains that I can frequent down there for rare titles. I even heard Afro Samurai is at a particular location. Well, I surely hope some of these resources above helps people. Happy buying and hunting people. Peace.... |

San Diego on Aero drive has no more HD DVDs... confirmed with guy in store.
FYE is going to be a YMMV... the FYE's I've visited don't have any. Wouldn't expect to see them at burlington coat factory of all places... not even sure there's one in san diego for me to check.

The HD-DVDs at Fry's in Renton are all gone. I had hoped they would lower the prices, but nope, they stayed the same forever and then they all disappeared one day.
