that was before... I know someone got the set off ebay for $60.

They'd been carrying fewer than 50 for a couple of months now (43 this morning) and as of this moment only have 26 available.

I purchased the Blu versions during the buy 2 get 1 deal on Amazon. My price per disc was $14.38.

Well, I agonised over whether to buy them now at this price with cheap shipping ( only US$5 to Singapore... you can't get any cheaper than that ) or to wait for a possible further price drop , at the risk of it selling out before I got to it .... so I finally broke down and bit the bullet. I felt pretty good about buying it .... all of 10 minutes .... now I am agonising over whether or not, once it arrives , to rip it open and watch the discs , OR to keep the discs pristine and sealed. Haha. I'm terrible ....

Personally, as a collector, I just couldn't resist adding this to my collection. The practical side of me knows that this will probably NOT be worth much in the future ( My LDs are practically worthless now .... ) and that I should have just bought the blus to enjoy the movies, but, hey, I am enjoying the process of collecting it.

Sometimes I guess, that's enough ....

Yeah, who knows how rare this really is. Probably a few thousand or less leaked out before it was recalled, but still many more were printed up. I'm curious as to how inetvideo came across all these copies to begin with. I think they may be sitting on a bunch more of them (the ones that were recalled, for instance?) and are merely trying to sell them off as high as possible until they are compelled by inventory to sell them just as any other HD DVD title. And I wouldn't trust their inventory counter for one millisecond.
It's just a guessing game as to when to buy (or not buy) this...

Well, I went ahead and placed my order. I had to jump on this before they run out, otherwise i'd be kicking myself in the butt later. It's the cheapest I have ever seen a sealed copy go for. Well glad to add this to my collection finally!

Dang it Bruce I wish you would have reassured me before I placed my order. I even left them a message on ebay saying if they dropped it to $99 like their site I would buy it and 30% cashback from microsoft. Despite all that I let the limited stock figures scare me into buying it. Where are these stock figures comming from anyways? Oh well its one less thing I have look for everyday on ebay now. I'll be pissed if they drop it to $99 on ebay now. Oh well not likes it will be the first HD DVD purchae I made that has signifigantly dropped in price.

Nah, I would've bought it too for that price if I didn't have it already. Glad to see you and Redbull picking this up for a decent price.

I would have jumped all over it as well.

For whoever it was that was agonizing over opening it or not.

I opened my copy of Taking Lives so that is where I am coming from. Movies are to be watched. I won't buy one that I have no intention of ever watching (well thats not true..I will buy Ransom...at some point) but I don't hesitate for a second popping the cover off and throwing it in the player. I like the movies themselves and the shiny warapper doesn't do it for me

Wow ... you opened Taking Lives ....

That said, you are absolutely right. of course .... it really should be about the love of film, even if I do love my shiny minty plastic wrapped discs ! LOL

Hmmm.... maybe I should buy another Jack Ryan ... one to keep and one to open ....

Just wondering since a search of the net hasn't helped...

Has anybody who has purchased this set posted pictures anywhere? I'm curious to see what the box and discs actually look like.

Good point, if this is the 'corrected' set, they could have a lot of them to sell.
