I purchased this player about 6 months ago and it's played 99.9 % of all movies thrown at it.The only trouble was Stalingrad (Enemy at the Gates). That may have been a pressing issue.Highly recommended player.

For me its 1 less HDMI slot and the ability to finally bitstream both blu-ray and hd dvd audio to my 705. I'm picking up new player at BB after work today and my A35 is going on ebay.

According to other posts it bitstreams, but I won't know until I plug it in this evening and try it out. Maybe someone else in the forum could confirm for sure. I believe the latest upgrade made it possible, and it may even be upgraded to profile 2.0 in the future by LG.

It does bitstream.

LG has said multiply times that they plan to upgrade it to 2.0 (whether that happens or not remains to be seen) but again multiply LG techs have stated this.

I have one of these and I LOVE it!!! I plan on buying another just not sure when. This is a pretty decent price.

In my never ending quest to ensure that Best Buy makes as little money as possible, I present this 10% off coupon.

Fight the power!

Good deal, should be less than $400 including tax if you use the 10% off coupon posted by Centauri. If I didn't already have 2 BD-UP5000s, I'd be all over this especially since you can hack this player.

I'm in the same boat and I'm still tempted.
