Might be, I don't see $175 as a good deal. If you can never find it again it might be, but they can't have $30 invested in these. Yes the products can demand and get a higher retail, but it feels like a price gouge to me. Nothing against this company, they've been great for me.

As great as Inet has been with all their HD DVD's at a bargain price. This is just not as good of a deal. Just too expensive. But your right about this being for the collectors.

"for the collectors"
Yep, if somebody wants one in unopened new condition this will probably be the only way to get one.
It's not like there are going to be more of these made. Probably weren't 20k of these ever pressed, and if just 10% of HD buyers want a copy it will be a rare title.

they haven't...only a few were floating around ebay. They'd go for $200+?

You're right, they haven't been available.
Amazon.com had few copies they sold back in may for around $60-80 (i forget the exact amount now), but they sold out with in hours, started taking back orders, then canceled those 3 weeks later.

The history with this release is so odd, Nobody knows what is going to happen. These sell used on ebay for around this much, so it's not such a terrible deal, I just feel the price is a bit too high. But then again these may never become available again

Wow...leave it to Inetvideo AGAIN!!

Yep... This now proves that Canada IS the HD DVD dumping ground.

Nice to see they have the Paramount library available now. It will give me opportunity to get those I had passed on previously to fill out the collection.

Now... Do I really need NORBIT & HOT ROD??? eeenie....meenie....miney...moh

On a more serious note, this at least PROVES that Paramount was in fact sitting of a whack of Jack Ryan HD DVD Sets which they for whatever reason will NOT release to Amazon and other outlets.

Hmmm...Not sure it I will get this or not. Maybe I will look for some more junk in the basement to sell on Ebay in order to pay for it via Paypal funds. Then maybe I can think of it as a "freebie"

I was lucky to get mine (used) in a trade. Prior I had ordered one from Amazon only to have it canceled 3 weeks later. This was a must have since I am going for all titles. (Non Adult). This is just my speculation !!!!!
I figured that Paramount was going to sell their JR stock to Amazon until someone noticed what the leaked sets were selling for. They decided to hold off until after the Blu-Ray release and probably used them as a bargaining chip to unload their other disks. Inet bit

Just my 2 cents worth.

I paid slightly less than this for the box and 3 Blus (all from the same seller) on Ebay a week or two ago. I didn't have a problem dropping $150 on it bt the same day a copy sold for $325. that was just crazy. At some point they will show up because we know that they were pressed and a good number of them were made (hell I saw 5 copies in MY Walmart which was the death knell of all things HD DVD..Like they had 5 players when they did their big super sale and I think they MIGHT have had 20 HD DVDs ever in stock besides the JR collection). I figure that $50 a movie is not a bad deal especially when they throw in Sum of all Fears for Free. I have paid more than that for movies in languages I didn't understand If they drop it to below $100 I will buy another copy just to have a sealed one but not for $175. Like Satblaster I am going for the whole collection (except I am doing the adult titles as well....at least I am this week (I keep changing my mind)
