Has anyone received their "refund" from Best Buy yet?

Hey, a while ago Best Buy started offering a $50 gift card to people who bought an HD DVD player before a certain date. Naturally I jumped on it, went through all the things I needed too, talked to the people etc etc. The person I talked to assured me that I would receive the card in the mail, even though I bought the player in the US but live in Canada (in a border town).

It's been about 3 or 4 months since I did this, and I haven't heard or received anything yet. So I figured I'd come here and ask, did anyone here receive their gift card yet? If you did, when?

I just remembered yesterday as well that I had not received mine either so I called up BB. They said that they are backlogged and still sending them out. They took down my information and told me to call back if I haven't heard anything in a week or two. I suspect I'll be calling back in a couple of weeks ...

You should try just walking into to a local BB with a receipt, you will not lose anything if you they turn you down.

Yeah I called back in May because the email they sent said to call if you hadn't recieved the gc by then. The lady on the phone didn't seem to care and connected me with a pre-recorded message saying that if I'd recieved an email I would be getting a card but that it was taking longer than expected. I might try to call again since I still haven't gotten it.

Holy smokes. I would definitely get right on this if you didn't receive your $50 GC yet. I got mine and spent it a long time ago.

My ex got her's right away and I got mine a few weeks ago. I called them a few times on it and they were pretty backlogged. The gal on the phone told me there were only 2 ladies handling it.

Ahhh, the beauty of my situation with BB regarding this. Purchased my Add on back in Nov, when they were doing the free Heroes boxset and the 2 free discs with it. The next week they added a 3rd disc to the deal, so I went back in and was given the third disc as well. I was a very happy man.

When I heard about the GC coming for purchasers, I was even more pleased, until I didn't receive mine and called the customer service line to find out what was going on. Turns out, when I went back into the store to get my 3rd free disc, they did a return/pricematch. The problem here is; According to BB's sale records I RETURNED the drive thus making me ineligible for my GC.....

I have the box, the drive, the receipt and still they say there is nothing they can do, as according to them, I 'returned' the item.

ah thanks for creating this thread, i totally forgot to check up on my rebate/gift card status. i received my first one a month ago and a week or so before that I found my 2nd receipt for a 2nd xbox hd addon so i called in for that and was told to expect a gift card within 3-4 weeks, hm, been about 4 weeks now so think i'll see whats up. good thing they gave me a case #. thanks again!

Yes I got mine back months ago. I thought everyone would have them before now.
