hd dvd HDDVD on amazon.ca: 75% OFF M:I Box Set & ST:TOS s1

Couldn't find this posted anywhere else so...

Amazon.ca has the HDDVD box set of Mission Impossible 1-3 for $29.95 CDN and Star Trek TOS Season 1 is back down to the not-quite-as-low-as-before price of $54.95 CDN for those who missed it the first time...

...now if only they'd put Planet Earth on sale...

If you're looking for PE, why haven't you ordered from Amazon.co.uk yet?

Their UK-only 5-disc set has been on sale for $32~ shipped for a while now.

I saw that a few days ago -- I guess I've been stalling because of the PAL format ...and the chance of damaged discs coming from the UK.

Any problem with the disks coming loose on overseas shipments?

*sighs* Pal isnt a Issue for HDDVD

as for the disk coming lose I doubt it considering how the case has the disc sorted inside. The only problem I have from disc from the UK is the extra large cases which I am pretty sure this is not.

Thanks to those who shared their experiences...

...and yes, I *KNOW* PAL isn't an issue -- thanks.

I got mine in a little over a week. The only issue I had was the dust sleave is slightly wrinkled ad a corner or two is scuffed. And the fact that it says it is 1080i, and differing opinions say it is in fact 1080p. Still have yet to work this out.

But it was well worth shipping it from the UK.

...then why are you using it as a reason not to order?

Well, then if you're worried, you can just pick it up in your local FutureShop for $24.99. Link here.

At the bombshelter for HD DVD enthusiasts, they have the sale linked and there is also a code for new accounts for $10 off $40 or more @ amazon.ca . If you already have an account you just make a new one to save $10.

tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/thebombshelter

and click on "Links" in the top left, and then I believe it's under 'discounts' or something similar. There's a big list of current sales and coupons and anything else.
