Brokeback Mountain
The Break-Up
Americn Werewolf
Fast & Furious - Tokyo Drift
Mr Bean
Alpha Dog
and more.....

There are a few others that I can add to the list
Accepted
Miami Vice
Smokin' Aces

There were some others but I don't remember - I was in the store on Friday and they had a lot of copies of each

Interesting. Thanks for the info.

Once again, it appears that Canada has become a dumping ground of sorts for UNIVERSAL titles.

What locations are you guys seeing the HD DVD titles. These discount stores are a little few and far between in my area.

My local Giant Tiger has them as well.Looks like about 5-10 per title. All Universal, could not find "The Kingdom" or "Eastern Promises" though.

i can confirm that the Giant Tiger in Ajax, Ontario has a bunch on the rack for 6.88. pretty much the same selection as the other stores that people have commented on. i can also confirm that they are the canadian versions with french and english on them. so i guess they didn't get dumped on us from the states., But i honestly don't care french or no french. A good deal is a good deal

Why is it that every other country is blowing out HD DVDs faster than the US?

Seriously. In the past two months I've ordered more movies from the UK, Canada and Australia than I have from the US.

Honestly, this is why: did pretty well in the US, while it had serious trouble selling in other countries. Long before Toshiba threw in the towel, which really was all about the US market, the format had been on clearance in places like Japan and Europe. The very first cheap movie deals I ever saw were from military bases in Japan.

So, many many more players were sold in the US than in other countries, and it therefore stands to reason that the demand for movies in the US is higher than elsewhere. And we're proof that even though the format is "dead" people are still buying it up!

I think eventually the movies will get to true firesale prices in the US of less than $10, and more into the $5-6 range, but when that'll happen I don't know. It probably won't happen on sites like DD and Amazon for quite a while yet. I have been picking up really cheap discs domestically via half.com, but that's all inventory from fellow consumers and not retail outlets.

Just picked up Dead Silence, The Good Shepard, Hollywoodland and Accepted for $6.88 each at the Clareview location in Edmonton, Alberta.

All of the titles are combos because the average Giant Tiger client has no clue about HDM, I doubt any straight HD DVD titles will ever show up on their shelves.

They had all of the listed titles except Balls of Fury and American Werewolf, all $6.88.

I want An American Werewolf, if anyone in Fort Sask, Edmonton or Calgary sees any let me know...

This is an outlet type store. There are no Blu-Ray discs at all. These combo discs just came in within the last week as far as I can tell. You may find up to 25 or so HD DVDs.

On a side note, there have been reports of a few non-combos showing up at GT - Serenity being the one that comes to mind. Not anywhere in Hamilton though.
