Default Good buys for harder to find titles

Hi All,

I know this has probably be done before, but could not be bothered trawling through previous threads. One title that I recently purchased was The Graduate from dvd.co.uk. Was just under 8 Pounds delivered to Australia which is not too bad.

If there are any more movies you know that could still be purchased at good prices, I'm sure me and other people would love to hear about it

Best Regards,

Mathew

Season One of Bleak House and Hotel Babylon are available from amazon.co.uk for under £8 each!
This is incredible value when you consider that the DVDs cost twice the price in my country.

Great idea for a thread Mathew.

Some discs are still pretty expensive though.

Like Twister and Into the Wild.

I have a pretty large collection, but I don't have those 2 yet.

I'll wait til I can find em' on Ebay for $15 or less.

But I'm not spending over $20 for one HD DVD at this point.

Other than trying to find Forbidden Planet Ultimate Collector Edition HD DVD (w/tin etc.) for ~$25, $12 is my max. limit for domestic releases. And there are very few I want for that price (Michael Clayton and Full Metal Jacket Deluxe Edition spring to mind). There are a few more a the $10 barrier, most at $8, and some I'd only get for inetvideo prices (<$6). It's pretty much a issue with WB titles and some Paramount (have most of the Weinstein and Universal titles I want). That all being said, I'd buy any title I don't already own for ~$4 if shipping was included (I was hoping inetvideo might do this with there 3.99 titles but they jacked prices back up and never offered a free shipping promotion with them). Oh well, thank you too everyone on the prowl and willing to share - I hope other's follow inetvideo's lead to clear out their remaining stock oppose to sending it to some landfill or back to the manufacturer, etc.

To each his own on the price point... Mine is $10, but I still refuse to buy a disc just to buy it. I did that with DVD's and I'm not gonna piss the money away anymore.

well thanks for adding very little to this thread - other than your personal price barrier on hd-dvds - which will be very useful to all of us.

Default Hope I'm not shooting myself in the foot

I have found another website from another forum I also frequent.

Website is: www.freerecordshop.com and is European.

Has the following for a good price:
Saw 3 (4.99 Euro)
Graduate (5.99 Euro)
The Fog (5.99 Euro)

Postage is 3.50 Euro for one or 5.00 Euro for 2. Also has about 15-20 stock titles for around 5-10 Euro. This might be a sight we want to watch in the future as they have Lord of War which I think is an uncommon title if I'm not correct.

I have never used this website but have just ordered Saw 3 & The Fog

Also Hotel Babylon & Bleak House are available from DVD.CO.UK (for 5.95 7.95 Pounds respectively)

Best Regards,

Mathew

The prices at Fry's aren't bad... until you factor in shipping.

$7.12 for Ground shipping on two HD DVDs for me.

Agreed and ditto. I wish there was one closer than 2 hours away... That is a great deal for Michael Clayton, but for $4.99 shipping I'll continue holding out hope elsewhere. Nonetheless, thank you for the Fry's suggestion and positive post - for those lucky enough to live near one it sounds awesome. That is also to say, I envy you in a way .

You have to order several titles. The shipping stays the same up 6 I know. How far past that its stays the same I don't know. For some reason they ship out of Ohio. I get them in 1-2 days by DHL in PA with the cheap shipping. I figured I'd be waiting awhile for them to come from the west coast.
