Default HMV to recall soon?

Went into a HMV store today and I noticed a sign that said HD-DVDs were to be recalled shortly and there will be no further price reductions.
I am not sure if I believe it considering the large amount of stock the store had and their staff telling me for months that they would be removed in a month.

I hope this doesn't affect their online store unless these disks will be sold through the online store

Saw the sign at HMV at 333 Yonge today. It's a shame they are going to send their stock back without a true fire sale like their UK counterpart has had on, especially given that they have the best selection of HD DVDs in Toronto now.

If I recall correctly, HMV.com is no longer going to be used as a retail site, and will be for information purposes only (i.e. You can't buy anything from the site). They probably found it wasn't worth the cost & hassle & logistics of administrating orders from the website.

Not 100% sure when this is in effect, but they gave out discount coupons as a thank you to some people who had ordered from them before.

Yes, I've used them extensivly for HD DVD purchases. If true, this is awful news. I like the website very much and in recent years they've been pricing very competitivly.

At the moment though, I'm doubting this very much.
