No sure if this is the right place to post this kind of info, but I found this little snipet in a ComputerWorld article about Netflix.
"The company recently added a movie-streaming service for game consoles." http://www.computerworld.com/action/...rce=rss_news50 Could this be confirmation of an Xbox/PS3 movie streaming playback or just chalk it up to bad editorial? What do you guys think?

Well it all depends on how much these companies look to Apple for leadership.
If they do, then no it will never, never, never happen, and as a result they will sink and eventually that service will disappear or be vaporware. Now if these companies don't look to Apple, then this might just see the light of day. But as all companies now a days look to Apple, with it's closed/locked down business idea, they all think they can have the same success Apple got. Which of course is a very narrow vision, and the prospect of making lots of money. Of course with a narrow vision, there is no prospect of long or short term profits. Of course if Netflix can trick MSFT and Sony into thinking they are making a Video game and not movie streaming software, then they may just get away with it. On a related not, yuck, why would I want to stream movies to my 42 inch plasma? I want to watch a good quality movie, not some webcam/pirated looking movie. |
