Curious question hoping someone could answer for me??

I watch many movie trailers on my computer. I was wondering...could I take a movie trailer, transfer the trailer to a disc, transfer the disc to a sd card, memory stick pro, or a compact flash and put it in my PS3 and download the trailer into my PS3?? I am sorry if not totally clear...I dont know if I am using the right words/descriptions. I am not online with my PS3 but I want to store and watch movie trailers on my tv. Is it possible to take trailers off the computer and transfer them into the PS3?? Sorry if this is the incorrect forum to put this thread. I looked at all forum categories and this one seemed to be the correct one for my question. Thank you for all responses.

it can be done. you may need to convert the trailer first,depending on what format it is in. i use ps3 video 9 to convert when needed.

or you could just get an external hard drive and copy the trailers to that from you computer they need to be mp4 or avi format

I use the freeware mkv2vob to create PS3 compliant videos then I use either an 4GB usb or an 8 GB usb memstick to play them on my PS3 by selecting video , press triangle to select show all and then I either copy to hard drive or I press play.

I sometimes use Nero Recode to make mp4 files for the PS3 but the audio will be in stereo.

With a movie trailer in mkv container with DTS 5.1 audio you use MKVtoVOB to generate a PS3 compliant video file with 5.1 AC3 sound that plays from the
usb drive.

Thats how I watch all of my TV shows in HD with 5.1 ac3 sound
