Default Ulead Video Studio 11 Plus

Hi every one, just installed the Ulead Video Studio 11 Plus and did a test burn in HD-DVD format to a DVD-r disk, and it worked!

Just another option to burn HD disks!

I test trialed one of their products last year to burn HDTV recordings to DVD-r in high def, but couldn't get 1 hour shows to fit because it only supported mpeg2. What video codecs does it support? AVC / VC-1?

Ive only had the chance to try it with a 1080 H.264 codec using Apple Imovie of all things but it did work perfectly, The program does allow you to capture and edit HD video within the program and it has a visual slider that shows how much mb's the video is taking up on a HD-dvd disk (Dvd-r for this process) keeping inmind that you want to use 4.7g I would think that a dual layer disk will bring problems so I havn,t tested the dual layer disks at all. Now this of course is pointless if you want to fit a 1hr HD program on a dvd-r disk as it would not fit, I think 40 min max will fit.

With Apple Imovie & FCP you could make a HD movie but could only watch on the computer. using Video studio you can burn to DVD-r and watch on your HD-dvd player/360 add-on, this is just a option of course until HD-dvd burners come out and disks come down in price. Just my two cents

ps. I live in a town that is 2500 kms from the nearest city, so the shops here dont sell any type of HD player other than the PS3 and 360 Add-on and not HD movies at all, So we have to order from the cities etc.. which cost up to $40-$50 (Australian)a movie. So what I do is buy my movies from amazon (US) and freight then over air express and after exchange rates etc... its still cheaper then buying them locally plus we get the movies 4-6 mths ahead of the Aussie shops! which is why full kudos to HD-DVD, no region locks!

Download the update. It gets you to 11.5 plus. Gives you the choice to burn HD DVD content to 4.7GB and 8.5GB DVDs. Otherwise just make sure the size of your clip is less than 4.7GB, select HD DVD as your media, insert a standard DVD into your burner and burn away.

I am having trouble with burning using Video Studio 11 Plus. Started about a month ago. When the "Share/Create Disc" gets to the burn part, I got a message "Failed to Burn". I have uninstalled the program, cleaned the C drive, and reinstalled the program. Only difference is, now the message reads "Unspecified Error". I have also tried burning using the Corel support suggestion, "Share/Create Video File", then load it as a new file into the Edit function, and proceed from there to the "Share/Create Disc" phase. Same result. Is anyone else having this problem? Anyone have a clue what to do? I have submitted the situation to Corel Support, but I am not optimistic.
