Just purchased the sony sr1 - great video cam
but sony has an .MTS file going into the computer. A thread said that I am not allowed to bash formats, does this qualify as an exception? Question: I am running the .mts into a PC and converting to MPG2, then I run it into final cut express on my mac and then edit it. If I get an HDMI card (doesn't exist for my tower) for a PC and then burn this AVCHD file to a DVD, will I be able to edit it with final cut express? Q2: If I buy a blueray burner, can I burn HD to it, if I'm using a MAC? Martini PS I'm still drunk from last night. |

Why would you need an HDMI card to burn home video to a DVD?
You might have better luck asking this Blu-Ray question on the Blu-Ray forum instead of the HD DVD forum. |

If I burn HD with a blueray burner then I may only have
to purchase one burner (I won't need the HD burner). IS this how it works. With respect to home video, I am not burning home video, I am a magician and I videotape my shows - sometimes I hire a pro ... but I like the quality of the SR1 and would like to supplement my pro-magic video w more of my own vid's. Will the HDMI card mean that I have better quality video to edit,
rather than the Sony .MTS video that runs into my computer thru the USB2 Martini |

I may be wrong, but the file is the same no matter the card.
