I refuse to pay more than $10 for a disc. Most of mine are picked up either on this site or from ebay.

I'm pretty much done. Price devalues too quickly making resell nearly impossible. I plan to sell off half my collection (if not more). I'm just going to rent, download or stream.

I buy way too many blu-rays. I currently have 401 Blu's. Out of the 401, I have about 225 that I haven't even watched yet! And I'm still buying more! I bought five yesterday and two more today. I only have time to watch about 6 hours per week.
Fortunately, 75% of them were purchased used or at an extreme discount. The last 70 have been pretty much $10 or less. My problem is I just have 6 hours a week to spend watching them. And lately I've been watching more TV on Blu (Smallville S8, Tru Blood, Star Trek Season 1, and no Prisoner S1). The problem with that is it takes me 2-3 weeks to get through a season, and I'm not watching any movies while I do it, so they backup. I have the BSG 4 season box set in the queue too. That should slow me down. ![]() A big chunk I will resell when I finally get around to watching them. The rest I will keep for whatever crazy reason. There will be a handful, I'll watch 3-6 times each year. Another bigger batch that I watch 3-4 times in several years. The rest will probably only be watched once, but I like having a library to choose from. I was on Netflix three at a time, but that was like $16-$17 a month, and when I mixed in movies that I bought because I knew they were keepers, I was only getting 2-3 movies per month, so over $5 each. I dropped to two a month, but then could never get what I really wanted, so the ones I got sat around awhile before I got to them. Still costing me $5 per rental. My local store has almost no Blu selection (I have more than twice what they do), so renting locally is out (plus BD is $6 per rental). So I just started buying used. If I buy it used for $15, watch it, sell it for $12, I still only have $5 or less in the "rental". If it turns out to be a keeper, I already own it, and don't have to pay the rental + purchase price. |

Getting better about not blind buying unless they're real cheap. I hate to rent, though. It's nice just being able to grab whatever suites my mood off of my own shelf. I have bought a lot of cheap HD-DVDs since the war ended, though.

Someone mentioned a buyer with 1700... That is a load. I mean I have around 280 which is quite a few compared to people I know personally. Right now I pre-ordered several titles that I am awaiting come their release date. The cheap prices at less than $15 [and in some cases less] per made my choices easy.

I'm much better with Blu-Rays then I was with DVD. I used to compulsively buy movies on DVD every week from 2000 when I got my first player to a couple of years ago. I decided with Blu-Ray I would be much more selective, and I've been at least fairly successful doing so thus far.
Though I've replaced more DVDs with Blu-Ray versions than I originally intended-- I originally underestimated how lame DVD quality would be after getting used to Blu-Ray.

I buy BDs that I'll watch over and over again, even though I only have about 60 or so. Everyone tells me that I have too many.
I just think they're all jealous.

I did when I first got a PS3. I've never watched any of them more than once, and some I still haven't watched. Now I am very picky about what I buy and when.

How many Blu-ray titles would be considered too many?

That's subjective.
Here's some signs you may have too many: 1. You have 10+ titles you haven't watched. 2. You looked at your credit card bill and thought it must be a mistake or fraud... but it was just Blu-ray purchases. 3. You find yourself spending time thinking about Blu-ray storage solutions because you've outgrown your current solutions... at least twice. 4. You purchase a Blu-ray you forgot you already owned. 5. You are beginning to wince when you see some of the sale prices of Blu-rays that you bought on release week. 6. Tuesday is your favorite day of the week. 7. You have a standard answer to people who ask why you have so many Blu-rays. You often supply the reasoning before people ask anything, too. 8. You blind buy movies often. 9. You slip purchases past the attention of your family, spouse, coworkers, etc. 10. You own two or more versions of the same identical movie on Blu-ray because you wanted the Steelbook, collectible knick-knacks, etc. There's plenty more, I'm sure. Supply your own telltale signs. ![]()
