Default BBC Readying 'Galapagos,' 'Room with a View' for High-Def

Why not Dolby TrueHD or PCM?
there is no way we can pass DTS-HD MA as bitsream to receivers (yet) and even HD-XA2 can only decode DTS Core. So why not including DTS-HD MA as well as Dolby TrueHD?
Is it because they dont have enough space? (which I dont think so)

"Room With a View" is an absolute must-own for me. Man, there are some great titles coming. I hope "Maurice" follows shortly.

Let's hope the BBC issue the HD version of their latest "Bleak House" - stunning visuals to go with a quality script and superb acting.

I want the BBC to start releasing some non-documentary style shows... I know Doctor Who isn't shot on HD, but Torchwood, Robin Hood and Life on Mars would all be fantastic!

Yeah but Dr Who would still look amazing on HD. Personally this is my most desired TV series on HD. The documentaries are nice and all, but let's be real here BBC, the real money is in getting shows like Dr Who and Torchwood out in HD...

On a side note though I actually loved Torchwood for the first 4 episodes...after that the stories went downhill and they just got far too militant about pushing their social agenda...plus it turned into the "Gwen and Owen Show"...sorry, but they were by far the least interesting characters and the almost total focus on them in the later half of the series was just boring. Maybe season 2 will even out a bit more.

It's shot on video so releasing in HD wouldn't really upgrade the resolution and it would probably look the same.

I had no idea...ok, so what the hell is the BBC smoking? Dr Who has nearly 8 times the audience of torchwood, yet they shoot torchwood on HD cams and Dr who on Video? idiots....

thanks for the info though...no point n holding out for an HD-DVD release of season 3. Maybe with S4 they'll get their act together.
