South Park is dead.
Bullcrap this season is bad. The Jonas Bros. episode was freaking great. Also, the Kanye West episode was REALLY good.

Seriously, South Park hasn't had an outright terrible season. The closest I'd say would have been the 12th season. However, it still was better than Family Guy or recent Simpsons. So...

I'd say South Park has changed quite a bit. Earlier seasons were less reliant on random violent/gore gags and complex, political storytelling. I miss the simple, twisted "kids' show" days - which I refer to as classic South Park (some newer episodes, like Breast Cancer Show Ever remind me of the old days). Things in those days were more oriented around the gang and the South Park universe. Newer stuff is way too referential to real world stuff.

I will admit, there are some gems in the newer seasons. And yes, SP is still insanely better than Family Guy. But I'd say there's been a quality drop since season 9.

The two episodes you mentioned are the only two that were worth a fuck this season.

South Park really IS dead. They should cancel the show and let it have its dignity.

Hmmm, I never thought of that: of a cartoon ending while they're on top, like Seinfeld did (Seinfeld could have done another season for even more money, but chose to "end while the show was on top". This way, it's remembered better).

But does that concept apply to animated cartoons? Its not like Eric Cartman or Bart Simpson or Peter Griffin age. So, are animated cartoons exempt?

Its true that the ending of a film can make or break the story...etc. So, the last season of a show should be killer...

Exactly! They should kill the show now before they ruin the memory of how great it used to be.

Hell, I am a HUGE South Park fan, but I want it to die now so it won't be completely ruined. I have all the seasons on DVD, have given all of the seasons on DVD to other people as gifts, have purchased some episodes on the Xbox Live Marketplace before they are available on DVD, have all the single DVDs from when they were first released, have the HD DVD of "Good Times with Weapons," have all the collection DVDs and sets, and I even have FOUR of the Towelie towels, for Buddah's sake, so I am not someone who just hates South Park.

I just want it to end before the run it totally into the ground and ruin what it used to be.

Not me. Besides, the animation's all crappy anyway...

The movie, however, would be a day 1 for sure.

Not sure if I will ever buy it on BD. I actually buy them for my wife since she loves the show. Last one I bought her on DVD was season eight and I don't think she finished watching the first disk yet with her being busy with work and our baby.

It would be easier for me to back them up to our HTPC if they are on DVD that BD since its a longer process with BDs and takes a lot more space.

So I think I will continue buying on DVD, however I got season 8 for $29.99 and will wait until season 9 drops in price and then buy it.
