Road To Perdition and Master and Commander. I didn't like Road to Perdition, and I tried to watch Master and Commander about 5 times and each time couldn't get past the first 30 minutes.

Are you kidding? Both of these movies are fantastic. Road to Perdition is one of Paul Newman's better movies during the last decade or so of his life. Master and Commander is actually very well done all the way done, especially concerning the score and the cinematography. If you honestly dislike both of these movies then you just have bad taste in quality films.

Or maybe I just don't like them. You know nothing about me but based on one comment you are making an assumption about my tastes. I don't like Tropic Thunder, shall I then assume and proclaim that you have bad tastes in movies because you have the movie in your signature? Are you the authority on what movies are "good", "bad" "quality" etc. I understand if you disagree with my opinions but can't understand how you can make a blanket statement about me when you know so little about me especially when it comes to any form of art since it is all subjective.

Or maybe I just enjoy well made films. I mean if you like the crappy ones then that's great. Someone's got to like them I suppose.

While I liked both Road to Perdition and Master and Commander, I certainly wouldn't rip on someone that didn't like either/both of those movies. Not every movie is everyone else's "cup of tea". When I browsed through your online collection, I saw there were a lot of movies you and I had in common, but I also saw some that I wouldn't waste 10 cents on. That only means different tastes, not bad taste. As I said, I thoroughly enjoyed Master and Commander, but I can also see where someone else could find it slow moving. Many people feel The Big Lebowski is a great movie. I listed it as one of my disappointing blind buys. That's just a difference of opinion, not "bad taste in quality films."

Yeah, I see what you are saying concerning tastes. I actually had never seen The Big Lebowski so I figured I'd buy the HD DVD for $4 so I did and I wasn't too thrilled with it. I think I rated it a 6/10.
