Default What HD DVD Movie to show off Surround sound ?

Not sure where to post this. Please move if neccessary.

I have just finished putting together a home theater room with 1080p projector and a decent 7.1 audio system. I currently use a Toshiba HD DVD player.

I have been very satisfied with the video portion, but would like to hear recommendation of HD DVD movies that have good audio surround sound portion (good surround, 360 pan, deep bass,..., lots of surround feeds). To be honest, I want to "show off" to friends of what my surround sound system can deliver

If you go to www.deepdiscount.com you can get a great price on the Matrix Trilogy. The gun battle in the lobby in the first movie, and the Sword Fight/Highway Chase sequence in the 2nd are great demo scenes. Also the chopper crash into the building, where Neo is holding the rope, which I think is in the first.

Batman Begins, 300, Bourne Ultimatum, those are just the ones I could think of right now.

Didn't anybody tell you?! The HD DVD track suddenly sucks now that the BD has been released with a TrueHD track.

Anyways, I'll back 300 - The movie sucks but the audio track is amazing.

Hey, stop being a"Drama-Queen" nobody said version of Transformers sucked. They said version is better.

P.S. I would use Blade Runner.

Yeah I'm not even going to debate that one! I don't care how much better people think the TrueHD track is, the DD+ on the HD DVD still rocks pretty hard!

I gotta go eith Purple on that one.

I'd also go with Backdraft (DD+) for the bass - not as forcefull as some of the newer releases but for its elegant and outright smooth use of bass as the fire which elevate the fire sequences to a character in itself instead of a well placed sound effect, Face/Off (DTS) for it's overall bombastic presentation and, if you can get your hands on it, the German import release Renaissance (DTS-HD MA) for it's directionality, smooth pans and discrete effects.

I just hooked up my suround sound, so I havent had the opprotunity to test all of my HD-DVD's to be able to say first hand what is good, but word on the street is that I Am Legend is pretty killer. I'd also have to agree with some of the others that 300 would be a good bet. Watching it with standard speakers, I can just hear the potential for greatness in the sound. In the theatre, I was frequently worred (unreasonably worried, I really shouldnt have cared) that the other theatres would be bothered by the incredibly loud and precision sound coming from that movie. Blade Runner though, I didnt even think of that.
