Default Question?

Can someone please tell me the difference between "uncompressed" 5.1 and DTS Digital 5.1. When I set the audio to "uncompressed", I have to turn the volume up just to be able to hear the center speaker. Also, how many audio options does the blu ray disc have, and which delivers the best sound?

Thank you all.

Do you have your blu-ray player hooked up via optical/coax or HDMI to your receiver?

My Sony Blu-ray Player S300 is hooked up via optical to my receiver and HDMI connceted from the Blu-ray to my Sony Bravia XBR 1080P TV. I have doubts about which of the audio setup options works best: "Uncompressed", Tru HD or DTS.. My receiver handles up to 6.1.

Thank you very much.

Uncompressed is PCM, and you cannot pass the surround sound over optical, you need HDMI. For you the best option is to pick DTS or Dolby Digital.
