Default Some Movie Ramblings

Well I was at my local Walmart yesterday and to my suprise no HD DVDs...they shipped back their remaining supply yesterday. My local Futureshop hasn't done anything with price in about a month.....however, I was talking to the movie dept manager and he said that Futureshop sales of HD DVD have been very good and they are looking at having dump bins of HD DVD movies starting sometime in June. There are still a dozen or so HD DVD titles I want......but I may pick them up on Blu if I can't get them at rock bottom prices.

When I was at Walmart I was pleasantly surpised to see some Bluray titles under $20.00 and even under $15.00 .....which is what we need for Bluray to really take off.

SD DVDs are still a really good buy however....I picked all four of the Leathal Weapon movies ( I don't care a hole lot for them, and wouldn't pay for them on high def)....but I picked up all 4 movies in one case ( two doubled sides SD DVDs) for $7.50....which to me.....is great value. I prefer this type of packaging for movies that I am not likely to watch over and over again, as it takes up much less space on my shelf. I have picked up "double bills", "triple Bills".....and now Quardouple bills for $7.50 at Walmart.

Anyway...just some ramblings for anyone that is interested.

Stopped by my Walmart last night too. Nothing has changed. Same stale set of SD DVD players, same stale locked case of a few HDM titles (a bit more blu now, but still a representative set of HD DVD's) priced under $30 (some under $20).

Pretty clear they are not one of the stores about to display all that blu hardware...
