Amazon 10% off high-definition titles reduced to 5% off now?

Has anyone else noticed that the 10% off for high-definition purchased is now only 5% off? I have had this happen on two different orders over the last few days.

Here's an example:

Items: $19.95
Shipping & Handling: $0.00
Promotion Applied -$1.00

Total Before Tax: $18.95
Estimated Tax: $0.00
Order Total: $18.95


Normally I would get $1.99 off this order instead of $1.00.

Am I the only one this is happening to?

Promotion Applied -$1.15

Total Before Tax: $21.80
Estimated Tax: $0.00

By golly, I just tested this out and found the same reduced discount. Not sure what's going on, except that the discount has been pretty wonky in the past. I've had one or two instances where the discount dissapeared completely for a day or two, only to mysteriously return again.

Of course this special discount was supposed to be discontinued over 4 months ago, so its difficult to complain too much

Yeah, that's true, but it is sad to see the discount go... even though it isn't a huge discount, it is still a big factor in my purchasing.

I love Amazon, but my discount(Which is now 0%) has bounced around so much in the last week, they sure do things differently at Amazon.

Thanks for the extra 4 months , I guess someone forgot to flip the switch in Jan!!

I also thought it was going to end in January, so I'll take the extra few months no problem.

I called today. They're checking into it.

The only I've notice it on so far is "Blades of Glory" Blu-ray. It gave me 5% off.

They're supposed to send me an email about it.

They saw my other orders with the extra 10% off.

I wonder that too... I have been a steady 5% for a while now. Perhaps they are just trying to reduce it for a while before eliminating it entirely.

I wonder if the studios were paying Amazon to reduce the prices to stimulate sales and if they are lowering their payments.

Can anyone get the 5% to come up on either of the Mummy movies or One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

I think the pre-orders have to be up on the website for awhile to have the 5% kick in.

I'm not getting the 5% off on Smallville Season 7,Iron Man.The Mummy,The Ruins and a few more that were recently put up.

But for pre-orders that have been listed for a while on the website I can get the 5% off,examples are Dark City,Firefly,Cloverfield.

Atleast I think thats whats going on,cause thats how it was before for me when I would get 10% off.

Jaws, are you the same Jaws3 posting at Amazon, by any chance?

Anyway, are you guys referring to that "early adopter" discount, where you still get % off because you started buying early on?
