Thumbs up

I was told as well at my local blockbuster in Naples, FL that one store in my area will be getting HD. Hopefully it's when you guy's are saying November 7th. If I find out anything else I'll give another post.

It'd be nice if they'd rent the players as well. There's several BDs I'd check out if I could rent the Sammy for a weekend.

One interesting thing is that all HD-DVD discs doesnŽt have Portuguese subtitles and just some of Blu-Ray titles have...

Neither Samsung Brazil nor Toshiba Brazil have started to sell the players here... (we cannot use the american players as DVD players because they just play region 1 DVDs...)

Even with those "issues" the discs are beeing rented.

I bought an HD-DVD XA1 in april and IŽm waiting for the PS3 to use also as Blu-ray player. IŽll be in LA in december and I hope to return with one in my package I gave up to wait for Pioneer or Sony or Panasonic BD players...

My brother Danilo has the Samsung BD-P1000 (we share the same house) and we think it doesnŽt worth U$ 1,000.

Looks like Brazil is on the ball. Blockbuster need to do this as soon as possible to fight off competition from the internet rental sites like netflix etc. In the UK I know of quite a few Blockbuster’s that have closed down recently. The new interest in HD could spike interest again, especially as people want to test their systems with new discs.

I get most of my HD-DVD's from netflix now. I haven't had a problem with them shipping them. Maybe now that I have both netflix and blockbuster online I could use my envelopes with that total access and get the HD movies with that. That would be great. If I find anything else out I'll let you guy's know. One store in my area I was told is going to be getting it. Hopefully it's the one I usually use. Even if it's not the other one that's supposed to be getting them is only about 10 miles away.
I'll keep you posted.
Michelle.

Just visited my Blockbuster today (did the Total Access thing, btw) and they said HD DVDs will be carried "soon". No mention of Nov 7th, tho.
