Hey! That's my favorite game, period! Betcha can't beat me!

Okay. Well, I was raised and told by my mom to be a Democrat. But when I got old enough to vote, I wondered what the freak the difference was between the two. So, I took to the dictionary, and looked up "Democracy," and "Republic."

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/democracy
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/republic

My conclusion: the republic is but naught without the people, who make up the democracy. And vice-versa. So...what are we fighting about again? I decided that whatever it was, it would do me little good, if any, to choose a side. I therefore registered as "non-partisan." But I do lean democratic, just because I usually like what democrats have to say and oftentimes do. Bill Clinton: best president we ever had. (Well, in recent years, anyway. Probably the best since JFK.)

And as you all know, I support Blu-ray. If Universal sticks to its guns, and release certain titles that are must-haves for me, I will jump to neutral.

I support both formats and I am a Scorpio. Sorry...I have no political affiliation. I view politics in two ways: by definition and by what I observe over the years. By definition, ''poli'' is a Latin word that means ''many'' and ''tics'' are blood sucking creatures. Nuff said there. By what I observe, democrats promise to make you richer, faster, and stronger and get the chicweed out of your lawn. Republicans say the government does not work, they get elected, and then they prove it does not work. This last sentence was a quote from a book called ''PARLIMENT OF WHORES'' FROM P.J. Orouke. It something I memorized from my college days and i keep it in the back of my head as presidents and their parties come and go. Cant say if I have seen a president or poltical party dispute or prove this quote wrong yet. I would like to see a muti ticket- a republican and democrat running for president and vice president on the same ticket.

Up until March of this year I was a staunch supporter of HD-DVD, until we got a new HDTV and my kickass wife surprised me with a 60GB PS3 (and a BR copy of Casino Royale and COD3) after I unsuccessfully (due to hardware limitations) tried to hook up my 360 via 1080p via VGA input. MS told me it was doable, but after some net research I found out that it was 42" + Sony XBR 2's that could support that feature. I was severely bummed because we weren't really the highest of high-def and she said, "let's go on a Wally World (Wal-Mart to those not in the know) run like we used to in college - it'll get your mind off of the TV."

On the way to WM, she said her stomach hurt, so when we pulled up to the store I let her out to go to the restroom and we agreed to meet on the toy aisle. I parked the car and ambled into the store and made my way to the toy aisle. I get a call on my cell about 2 minutes later and it's my wife telling me she wasn't feeling well and was outside getting some air, while asking me if we could go home. I said that was fine and I jogged out of the store. I had the keys and she was in the parking lot leaning up against the passenger side of the car when I got there. I unlocked the car and opened the door for her to get in. I walked around the front of the car to the driver side and as I turned, I nearly kicked a PS3 that was sitting on the ground. Needless to say, I flipped out and laid a big, fat kiss on her coupled with a crippling bear hug and an "are you kidding me?!" Are you sure about this?! Holy crap!!!"

We got home and hooked it up, and 007 in high def was beautiful. Six weeks later we agreed that if I sold my 20GB 360, I was free to get the ELITE. So now we're in HD up to our ears, and love it!

I'm a Republican who used to be a leaner to the right, but am now moderate and more open-minded, thanks to going away to college and escaping my parents ultra conservative compound. I did, however, invent the internet

Sorry for the long read

SuperTim2000....I probably dont have to tell you this but...YOUR WIFE ROCKS! I wish my wife was that cool! I mean, the way she set you up like that. I would have reacted the same way you did. And she even let you still get the 360 elite!!!! Man, I envy you. I love my wife to death but she would have told me to pick one or the other, which is fine because I work so much anyway. Cool story.

haha just a joke
International Politics was the class that got me thinking into politics. Some of your comments were ''thought provoking''. I find that people become more political because they really have nothing else to offer. I just get tired of the same old thing that happens with politics: they tell you what you want to hear, get elected, and let you down. We elect people to represent US, and they just bicker and argue!!!! The presidental debates and rallies are entertaining to watch to see all the back stabbing and verbal trash being thrown around. While I certainly understand your belief in not voting for anyone anytime soon, I hope you change your mind. Mr. Hewan (a jamican) changed mine in that International Politics course. He made you think and would force you to look at the hidden holes in your once ''no-brainer'' views. Need more teachers like him.

p.s. Good anaology on the lion. Gave me a good laugh.

There is no option on the list for me...

I support both formats and I have long been a member of the Libertarian Party.

Both Formats, Monarchist/Royalist (Though I usually vote Republican, as alot of Americans fail to realize how much better off we'd be with a King/Queen than a President who is beholden to special interests and lobbyist money (they all are))

I actually talked my Husband into getting the HD DVD player last year when we got married!! Plus we got the 42" Plasma at that time as well (Had enough Wedding $$$)!! Then it was my idea to get the PS3!! I would not go back to an SD DVD if it's an action movie and if it's going to either come out or has been released on HD or Blu Ray!!

Anyways I'm dual format and I'm a Democrat!!

Mischa.

Independant

I was HD-DVD first, but eventually purchased a PS3. Unfortunately, there weren't enough movies on Blu-ray to make the PS3 worth keeping (no games to speak of, either), so I sold the PS3. Now I'm back to being HD-DVD only, and loving it. The only movies on Blu-ray I want are the PotC movies, and Fifth Element. When Blu-ray players drop down to around $100 I'll probably pick one up.

Political affiliation is immaterial to my choice of hi-def formats. What's next? Sexual orientation?
