This sounds a lot like the Gwent card game in the Witcher III, but with football players instead of Elven archer and siege catapult cards.

Not familiar with Gwent. Is this a deck builder? If so, Badger just played his "Torment of Thousand Excuses" against your "Sage Advice."

Yeah, Gwent is the Witcher 3 card game. You get a deck, run around, add more cards to it, play it against other players, eventually compete in tournaments. All within the Witcher 3 game. However, Gwent is now being turned into a real trading card game thanks to is popularity in the Witcher 3 game, so that's the side-job CD Projekt is working on now while their big teams focus on Cyberpunk 2077.

    Gwent is LIFE.

Fantasy Football is also great, until a bunch of fuckheads start scoring touchdowns in garbage time to knock your 98% win probability down to a near even split.

Sounds about right, other than the Gwent thing -- fantasy football doesn't really seem like any card game to me (at least not a casting game like Magic). It's basically just a flavor of sports betting that you can influence a bit.

This reads like a man that has lost a few rounds against Smaug.

It's a really interesting topic to me, thanks for sharing this article.

I wonder how all this is supposed to work and how it would be more efficient than the work already done by programmers / robots in different industries.
