I won't be upgrading. I bought mine for the handful of Sony exclusives, and maybe a few extra titles I can pick up cheap for trophy hunting. PC is still my main squeeze, and the performance gap between them is just plain stupid.

It`s probably safe to assume the unwashed masses will look at the cheaper price point of the slim and go for that. Only the hardcore would put a premium on performance rather than price. If you`re ignorant, the sticker on the box telling you how much it'll cost is the priority, isn't it?

Pretty much, especially with 4K TVs kind of a mess prior to this year.

Damn, you Sony guys aren't upgrading? I'll let you know how it is!

Actually, I'm surprised they are still taking preorders.. maybe not a good sign..

It's certainly not! Remember when Indy would keep us posted on how long Xbox One pre-orders were available for on Amazon?

Nah, no one even knows what a ps4 pro is (including me, admittedly), so they wouldn't think to consider it as a gift. I expect some niche sales incoming unless they fix the horrible PR

You're in for some real disappointment. My dad got me a ps4 as a gift because ps4 was the new hotness all over the media and he historically always liked to give new consoles as a gift. I doubt he will hear of the pro or think to get one.

To suggest I'm being disingenuous with the whole "bookmark" thing is bizarre given I've only ever been upfront and honest about things like this. I'd be far more likely to wait for Scorpio at this point although I already bought something better, which makes the Xbox irrelevant to me.

    No VR for me
Write it down, take a picture. I don't give AF!

If the rumor of pro upgrade patches being charged for is true, I'm out.
Otherwise, offloading one of my PS4's next week and selling the other will cover almost all of the rest.

I seriously doubt this. Why would they do such a thing?

Why would pro patches be charged for? Time, effort, certification costs and simply because they can. I'm not saying they will but would anyone really be surprised?

You know it's going to take all 4 of your Xbox One's and possibly more to trade in for a Scorpio over a year from now, right?

I would be surprised if they charged for them due to DF Sony documents showing that it's directly forbidden by Sony. Which, granted, is a remarkably in-Sony-like and pro-consumer.

Of course, those were not official documents that couldn't be changed.
