Closed systems do not allow for free-thinking and creative expression. Therefore, mods are a no-go.

It sounds like this is all on Sony if the modder comments coming up on NeoGAF are anything to go by. According to them, this has been brewing for months because of a combination of only 900 MB allotted by Sony for mod content, and proprietary audio and texture formats that Sony is unwilling to budge on or help Bethesda and modders to transition over to.

Basically, it sounds like Bethesda was concerned about these issues initially, but Sony said "We can make this work and help or compromise on some restrictions," let Bethesda make the announcement about mods, then when it came time to actually make it work said, "Looks like we can't ease up on some things after all."

I'm not saying Xbox doesn't (or shouldn't) have mods for Fallout. I'm saying Xbox doesn't have mods for Bethesda games the same way those games have mods on the PC. It's a closed, curated system where as the PC is totally open. If you care about mods in a Bethesda game, the PC has always been the place to play, and there are no surprises here. Nobody got burned by this announcement.

$50 ($35 currently on Amazon) = PC freedom

Though, I wouldn't recommend wireless. Works okay for pixel based indie stuff, not so much intense 3D.

Any experience with the Ethernet over power systems? I thought about trying it in my house with the gaming PC at the opposite end of the house.

The fact that it works at all is magical, but when I tried it 10 years ago, the results were unreliable.

Actually bought one earlier this year to try out. Works way better than they used to. In fact, I use it to game pretty regularly on one of my Xbox one's with no issues at all.
